I never put two and two together until you made this comment. I have been a fan for 65 years and yet not having 2 playoff seasons in a row is what every living WS fan has experienced. This is a year for all of us to get excited about.

Carlo needs to bring his A-game. We are in need to get the bad taste of last night out of our mouths.

IMO once he was brought up the decision is to play him every day. He is actually a pleasant surprise in his ability to play a passable outfield.

In my view almost all right fielders can play left but not all left fielders can play right. Mostly...it's an arm strength thing.

I like most of this and especially Mercedes losing his automatic entry into the lineup. However, Engel is our best all-around outfielder at this point and should be the everyday centerfielder IMO.

He is a five-tool player who should be playing every day IMO.

I agree...and for what it's worth I am a lot more comfortable with Engel in centerfield.

Apparently not a run-of-the-mill tear. Better to get it over with than to play around for a couple of months and then decide. Robert, Eloy, Engel, Kopech and now Madrigal. That's a lot of DL time from important players. Shows how strong this team was at full force. I still think we will make a strong playoff run in spite of all this bad luck.

This will definitely be the plan if Mercedes continues on his current path IMO.

Goodwin picked up where Mercedes started his season. Great way to welcome himself to the team.

Pitchers who work fast are synonymous with pitchers who win. Give me a fast worker every time.

As we get older the pictures do get less flattering.?

We now have the opportunity to experiment with this type of player. Hopefully...we turn lemons into lemonade.

These injuries have gotten really old...but perhaps we have gotten a chance to discover Mercedes and develop Vaughn and his outfield skills. We certainly will have a chance to see Engel developed into his full potential. Lastly...once again we are seeing that good pitching can hide a multitude of problems. If the full squad is together for the Fall...we will be a favorite to go far in the playoffs and WS.?

I went through that last week with Detroit. By this Tuesday it felt like a month since seeing a game.

Mendick and Leury playing every game in the foreseeable future...ugh.

Great game...it felt like every pitch and every play mattered. Playoff feel to it.

Madrigal has a career BA of .318 and OBP.358 and OPS .763 Compared to Durham stats of .277 BA and OBP.352 and OPS .788 Durham had a 13-year career WAR of 33.8 according to Baseball Reference and I would think Madrigal will surpass that career WAR rather easily if he too has a 13-year career. Both very good players but my money would be on Madrigal to have a better career when all is said and done. Nicky is still getting his feel for the ML game.
