It's more that Madrigal is controllable for 5 more years compared to 1 for Hernandez. That said, I'd love to see the Sox sign Escobar or Semien in the offseason and make Hernandez the new (but much better) Leury Garcia and also a potential platoon partner for Engel in RF.

While Kimbrel is a huge upgrade over Heuer, it still doesn't solve the problem of Ruiz and ReyLo both still being in the bullpen. Would like to see if Fry from BAL is still gettable.

Adam Engel has elite defense, showing good power, and hitting both LH and RH pitching. I'd rather add a catcher and let Grandal be more of a 1B/DH when he comes back. Abreu could use some more days off to figure out how to hit again.

Speaking of Qatar, that's who the US just beat in the semifinals. Not entirely sure how Qatar ended up in the Gold Cup, but the US will almost certainly face Mexico, which should surprise nobody.
