Last year they spent $11.5 M to suck at 2B and this year they aren't spending anything to suck at 2B so I guess that's progress?

My guess is that's the plan: hope that this weekend makes the game unnecessary but then push the playoffs back a week if it is.

Doesn't it have to be tomorrow or not at all? Playing tomorrow allows for their W18 games to be played Monday. Any later is too much of a disadvantage heading into the playoffs.

We're supposed to drive to South Bend this afternoon for family Christmas. I know there are people on here from LaPorte County and wondering what the roads are like.

My mom was spending money in one of the shops along the main drag so maybe my dad was thankful that he could only stay 90 minutes.

One more thing I'll add. My dad's mobility isn't good and he doesn't do well on his feet for extended periods, but not bad enough that he needs a walker or wheelchair. The baseball HOF was very light on spots to sit compared to most museums. As a result we ended up only spending about 90 minutes there.

We did the Baseball HOF a couple years ago. Could easily spend a half day there. Rest of the town is pretty much a tourist trap.

Liam is an extremely durable and reliable closer signed for a good price. The Sox don't HAVE to trade him. It's going to take a haul to get him. Any deal would probably require a 3rd team because a contending team looking for a closer isn't likely to be able to part with the MLB ready 2B or OF the Sox would want back as the main piece in the deal.
