7/8: Cards @ Sox: Mikolas v. Toussaint
There will be no more real no hitters: One pitcher getting the job done. They shouldn't mob the relief pitcher who finishes a no hitter. That is stupid IMO. Analytics has pitchers' arms falling off after 103 pitches.

And that's an apathetic fanbase White Sox winner!
15 under .500 is not a recipe for second half success El Rockin. Look up "lousy' in the dictionary and u see the 2023 Sox roster. Team is not gonna contend. In fact a three-game sweep by Atlanta is likely comin.

7/8: Cards @ Sox: Mikolas v. Toussaint
Now that's a 'bad team' loss. No runs at home in July against a lousy team. 15 under .500? One or two likeable players? Yeah it's probably the worst team the south side has had in a long long time. Today's MLB LOL. ... Detroit pitched a no hitter today ... with 3 pitchers. Big deal. This sport is void of drama cause of analytics. Good job analysts, ruining a sport in so many ways.

7/7: Cards @ Sox
Yes the Sox pitching staff is poorly constructed for modern baseball. Starters going 5 1/3 innings max doesn't work with a team with OK (sometimes) but mostly ineffective bullpen. And the lineup is also poorly constructed for modern baseball. Yes Sox have 3-4 guys productive with the HR ball but everybody else is an abject failure at launch angle including Timmy. Why can't the Sox figure it out they have it all wrong. I hate openers but the way the Sox are constructed, they should be using 8-9 starters who go 2 innings max. Unless Sox can get starters who can go 7 like the old days, I'd prefer two innings apiece with 4-5 pitchers a game. Let Cease go 2 several times a week, ditto the other "openers." Do u all agree with me the Sox are ill equipped for modern MLB and that's a huge concern?

Were there any boos when we were down 5-0? Nice comeback win. Robert and Burger, what can u say? When they make contact, boom. Sox do have a handful of good players. What's with that, Pedro?

Trading One Year Assets is Inevitable. Maybe even 2-yr
It makes me so mad the Sox did a full rebuild. This organization right now has as dismal a future as any time I can remember. Just as in 2005 after winning it all it looked like the future was bright as ever. So sad. So many players worth nothing via trade value right now. I have no idea what Sox management should do. If anybody wants them I'd trade Moncada, Grandal, Lopez, Gio, Middleton asap. Nobody is gonna want Kelly, Andrus or Middleton however. That's a start. Hahn must have a plan to get out of this mess which looks like a long time before Sox are winning again,

7/6- White Sox vs Blue Jays, Gm 1, 4:10
I think I'd keep Eloy too. I stand by my earlier post: Keep Robert, Burger, Eloy, Vaughn and Sheets cause they have possible home run futures and the game is all about HRs. Get rid of everybody else including all the pitchers. If you have to trade one "prospect" to get a batch of good stuff I guess Eloy. Remember Timmy should go and he could bring some good players maybe.

That relief pitcher didn't mess around. Didn't care if they hit deep fly balls. Just keep it in the park. Scouting report doesn't speak well for Sox hitters. Not much respect there just throwing it over the plate and having the 3 fly out. Pathetic doubleheader. Nice hire, White Sox. Pedro really is a special manager. Geez get rid of him.

Two quick outs, lol. Pathetic. Make that 3 quick outs.

Can u imagine a Leyland or somebody like that, a Weaver or Lasorda managing Timmy? It wouldn't be pretty. Too bad Tim can't enjoy playing a kid's game for adult salaries. He makes baseball appear drudgery.

Yeah he's doing OK. He was phenomenal today. Prolly should deal him ASAP while he's cooking. Isn't he a couple burgers away from being Wilbur Wood-sized?

Toronto is now 47-40. They are enjoying getting to bag some automatic wins vs. our dull White Sox. ... Seriously at this risk of being repetitive and hyperbolic ... what would it hurt letting Oz take over the rest of the year? Would cost Jerry a bit of money having to pay off pedro and pay ozzie a decent salary for a few months, but it'd be interesting at least. Did u hear ozzie's rant about how great the USA is the other day? Quit holding a grudge for his leaving the team that one year with a week and a half left. We're at the point we need some fun. nobody can deny that.

Oh my. Timmy is 0 for 5. He needs a change of scenery.

I wish Sox would acquire Massey and Lopez from KC just to go with some local guys in a throwaway year. Also the short guy Madrigal from the Cubs, the former high Sox draft pick. With Sox out of it, Colas should play every day the rest of the way. See what we got in him.

The inept Royals getting boatraced by minnie last series has kind of buried the Sox finally.

Wow the Sox have three hits and two BBs. At least Colas just tagged a hit.

Holiday rain
Those old Chicago basements are kind of cool if they don't get remodeled. Our had cement walls and was pretty spacious. Until my parents did the remodel thing down there, we as kids put up a hockey net, used a rubber ball or tennis ball and played full out field hockey down there in our basement. You could take full-out slap shots. We did bust one of those small windows once. I don't think my dad got too mad for some reason. ... I do remember the basement flooding once or twice.

A Salute to Luis Robert, the all star
I hear you, but even tho i'm a broken record, i'll say again these modern players have their launch angles down pat. I mean he could struggle after being in the all star home run derby, but not if he just returns to his preferred launch angle. I love Robert (but) it's pretty obvious he's another HR or nothing guy. Not being negative. I only want to praise him in this thread.

A Salute to Luis Robert, the all star
This board understandably is quite negative in 2023. So I would like to put aside negativism for a moment and salute Luis Robert, who has a chance to be our city's next true superstar (with the Blackhawks kid). Please post something here congratulating this still young player for his awesome performance so far this season. Knock on wood on the injury thing. I would like to say, Thank you Luis for all the bombs. You are a very good hitter and appear to take your craft seriously and enjoy playing baseball. Keep it up and have fun at the All-Star game. You are a great bright spot on this team. Keep it up if you can. Keep trying and stay healthy. And congrats on the all star bid. It said he almost cried upon hearing the news. If the Sox are ever gonna win again, this man may be our next fan fave and leader.

7/4 Gamethread (Giolito vs. Bassitt)
Yeah, me too. I think it's because except for Robert, who actually has learned to quit waving at junk out of the strike zone and has decided to bash strikes and not wave at balls, most of the other players are very unlikeable. Often our best hitters go 1 for 4 or 0 for 4 with the weakest, most selfish at bats. I think a lot of us got worn out by selfish baseball and with nobody to root for individually, we kind of 'hate' this pathetic team.

Good thing Robert gave that big crowd one thing to cheer about. Another disappointing loss.

Trading One Year Assets is Inevitable. Maybe even 2-yr
That's what I wanted pre Sale trade. I thought with a good front office and scouts there was no need for the ridiculous tank/rebuild. I stand by my position and in this case indeed am willing to say the dreaded I told you so.

Trading One Year Assets is Inevitable. Maybe even 2-yr
I would suspect the Sox try to get rid of everybody possible who makes a decent buck, excluding three hitters: Burger, Eloy and Robert. And maybe Vaughn. Everybody else will be shopped or shipped. Including all pitchers. Pitchers have lost their value in my mind cause they are all 3 to 5 inning wonders. If a guy can't go 6-7 innings in my mind he's not worth any commitment to $. The reason? No fans are clamoring to keep any players except maybe Robert. So it's a prime way for the Sox to save money on salaries. Get rid of all making a decent dollar. When a team is going nowhere and is unlikeable it's easy for a GM to clean house. If the Sox are ever going to play and win modern baseball they need to keep the three decent HR total guys though. Only holdup? You are trusting Hahn to make all the trades when he's probably going to be fired after the season. That's a dilemma.
