  1. That reminds me of my dad not letting me be a caddy in high school and grade school when all my friends were doing it at Ridge CC. He said 'you could get hit with a golf ball and they are offering no insurance." None of my friends got clipped with errant golf shots. addendum; I'm glad he wouldn't let me. My friends hated being caddies.
  2. Thanks Lip Man. Makes no sense though unless they are worried about current White Sox players getting hurt while watching the Old Timers game. Injury at a Fathers vs Sons and Daughters game seems quite remote, geez, unless it's hereditary and the poor kids pull their hammys running during the game.
  3. Yeah, the current players are just the wrong mix. Nobody likeable except maybe Robert. Maybe Sox do need to overpay for Salvy Perez just to start turning around the clubhouse. They should have an oldtimers game. I would go to that to see some of the actual Sox who are likeable.
  4. I think this night is a bad idea. Negative karma. I will say this though. I've been thinking about it. The record of the team might not be quite as bad as some Sox teams but I truly think this is the worst "team" in Sox history. There are no pitching highlights and it's not all the Sox fault. You can't go more than 6 innings nowadays which mean Sox starters are all blah. Who cares? Relievers on the team all pretty much reek. Moncada is a pretty good fielder, nobody else except maybe Robert. Hitting? It's Robert and nobody else. Team intangibles? None. The guys don't seem to care or play with any passion. That adds up to a very very unlikeable team. I'll stand by my statement. Personally it's the worst team in Sox history. For hyperbole sake I guess I'll say it's one of the 3 worst teams in Chicago White Sox history. Congrats Jerry.
  5. I miss everything about Ozzie. He bleeds White Sox. Who cares if he left the team with a week and a half to go? He was getting replaced and everybody knew it. Me loves Ozzie. Could greg be the biggest Ozzie fan on this site?
  6. So the Sox can draft the next Andrew Vaughn? He was third overall, lol.
  7. Sox losing 9-5. Another embarrassing loss. Pitching staff blows along with an anemic lineup cept for Robert.
  8. Hahn is a disgrace. Burger is so hot right now. Sickening. Fantasy Advice (from yahoo): Burger has now hit safely in eight straight games, going 14-for-32 (.438) in that span. He's only hit one homer since joining Miami at the trade deadline, but he's now batting .340 (18-for-53) with an .888 OPS through 14 contests with his new team. Overall, the 27-year-old Burger is slashing .233/.297/.522 with 26 homers, 60 RBI and 50 runs scored through 381 plate appearances between the Marlins and White Sox.
  9. No reason to pencil the Sox into one's budget. Maybe go to one game for the corned beef sandwich. Why'd u go with 'new Comiskey' in your sentence? Is it gonna change names (I hope)?
  10. One of the worst losses of the season, maybe the worst. A terrible team annihilates the Sox who muster four hits. What a joke of a team, organization. Remains one of the worst seasons in all our lifetimes because of the lack of effort and lack of having a clue in all regards.
  11. Man the Sox have been horsebleep since Hawk left. He has to be pleased he's not broadcasting this ridiculously bad team. Obviously he misses the easy cash tho.
  12. Holy cow, just read this. Can't give my take. Too passionate and I'll get in trouble here I would think. Peace out. Be safe. Enjoy life especially the rest of the summer/fall.
  13. Well Madrigal homers then Santos gives up the game winner. Six measley hits. Yeah our Sox blow chunks. No way we were gonna beat a .500ish team 2 nights in a row. and split the season series.
  14. Nice win. Robert can hit. Boom what a shot to LF. Looks like team has a closer. He's pretty nasty.
  15. Don't all the Sox have bad K to BB rates? He was built for the Cell. Sad to trade him. Ridiculous in fact.
  16. I know the comedians never gave up on him after the incident. I saw he was worth 5 million, Good for him. Seemed like a very nice guy from all I read.
  17. How pathetic. How neighborly of the Sox to get swept by the Brewers. Team is a disgrace. 0-5 in recent games against neighbor Cubs and Brewers. No pride. No nothing. No accountability. Cut your losses and at least fire Pedro. Please?
  18. RIP. Underrated comic. To create that character and have it claim way more than 20 minutes of fame is astounding. I think Letterman helped Reubens with that character. I was reading that Paul was one of the nicest guys around. Please read this story if you get a chance. It's nice to read something positive, about a genuinely nice person, once in a while. https://www.cinemablend.com/television/people-sharing-stories-pee-wee-herman-actor-paul-reubens-after-death
  19. Damn, Sox lose another home game. What a pathetic season. Absolutely no highlights in terms of team ball. Robert is the only bright spot. ... We better have a mild winter, cause we have nothing to look forward to in April again. Sox will stink again next year. I'm pretty sure I'll be done in April. I'll give up my mlb subscription finally and my lifelong Sox fandom will be over. So sad.
  20. This thing about acquiring guys who care bothers me. This is MLB. I know the almighty dollar changes people but my gawd why do the Sox apparently have so many selfish players? Get a mean ass manager who will instill discipline (like a young Leyland) and kick some butt so to speak. This really disgusts me that the Sox have become a team full of selfish jerks. Acquiring Salvy will help but cmon. That's a desperation move. Wake up White Sox. Get your clubhouse in order for gosh sakes. This is appalling as a fan to hear this stuff. And if this is all true they shoulda kept Abreu at all costs. He has to be laughing his own butt off.
  21. Those pitches were screaming, "hit me."
  22. Anderson probably deserved to get humbled. He was mocked throughout baseball for the "down goes Anderson" call. Typical White Sox to not have his back. This team is a mess.
  23. Pedro is the second worst hire in baseball history (I know, hyperbole sort of). The first also belongs to the Sox!! Bevington. How could you interview either guy and think "We need this guy?"
  24. The Bears and Sox had a shot at Blackhawks-like dynasties (3 in 6 years). Bulls dynasty was amazing and too much to ask for. Winning it in 85, the Bears should have repeated at least. Sox had EVERYTHING going to take over this city in 2005 after the title. Inexplicably they never cashed again. Sad. The Bears ineptitude is what the Sox are about to go thru I'm afraid. Blackhawks should be ashamed at how far they fell after the dynasty years were over.
  25. Probably the best win of the season. All things considered.
