  1. Vaughn with 20 hrs and 75 RBIs. Not too shabby considering he tries to hit it out every time up. I'd keep him I guess. I heard an interview with Grifol on sirius today. He was implying heavily all the bad blood has already been traded and the team would excel next year. Dunno about that. Still got TA and Moncada to get rid of in that regard I'd think. At least it seems that way. I've never seen a team mismanage a roster's pitching staff this way. I guess the Sox thought with Lynn and Gio and Kopech and Clevenger we had a stellar rotation. That did not work out. Sox couldn't find a lefty or two to throw in there. I have no idea how they are going to build a pitching staff with no money to spend. A team with this staff is not gonna win more than 52 games folks. More like 50.
  2. I'm not a fan of Moncada but if he actually has become a good hitter I guess I'd be OK with keeping him. We don't have many big leaguers on the roster and it might be worth keeping him around. I'd love to read an article from somebody explaining plausible ways the Sox could actually be way better next year. I see no way, but maybe somebody has concrete ideas on how to fix this mess. Obviously it would involve spending money. ... First thing they NEED to do is get rid of Pedro and hire somebody with a name. That means $ however. Somebody like Dusty Baker, a guy like that. I'd even take Maddon.
  3. It's scary to think he's the only Sox pitcher who had an MLB caliber season. Cease was OK early but really really mediocre most of the year. Sox are looking at 50-60 wins next year. 60 would be a high water mark with this roster. It's scary to realize we could be at the start of the polar opposite of a dynasty. Sox have no talent, as most all of us on here realize. No more than five players (counting pitchers and regular players) worth a flip IMO.
  4. It's time to DFA poor Sheets by the way. Failure.
  5. Just another acquisition that didn't work out at all. He was a failure as one of the elder White Sox. Another guy who didn't care to grasp a leadership role either.
  6. Royals win the season series against the Sox, lol. Fourth time in five years that's happened. A 46-win team has won its first road series since May. Sell the team Jerry, we're sick of your leadership.
  7. Massey has 13 homers — more than one vs. our Sox. Must be a thrill for him to play the Sox in GRate Field again. There's something special about 35th and Shields or wherever the park is located now. Probably what, a 20-minute drive from Br. Rice if traffic is light.
  8. If the Sox want Sal Perez so bad, acquire him to be player/manager. Give him 250 at bats. If he's so great for winning/chemistry get rid of Pedro and hire Kessinger, I mean player/manager Sal Perez.
  9. I say trade for Massey and Nicky Lopez of the Braves. Might as well lose with a south sider and Napervillian if we have to lose.
  10. Nice comeback but considering it was against the 44-win Royals, just a lol at falling short at home in Game Two. A split avoids yet another low-water moment of the season had we got swept. Puke.
  11. The Royals have 44 wins. I'm almost positive the most wins against any team would be our pathetic Sox. That would be five or six wins. Sox should be proud.
  12. I think next year the Royals and Sox flip flop records. Sox lucky to win 50-53 games.
  13. He's only 24 (that's good), but he's been horrific (that's bad).
  14. Same with me. I forget my last game that I tuned into on mlb. Quite frankly it makes me feel anger and totally bored to watch our hitters hit and watch our starters do that stupid leg kick after their delivery is over. They need to bring Buehrle in as pitching coach for a couple years (beg him, pay him) and teach guys to pitch as he did. Our hitters have the worst approach and our pitchers blow chunks as they say. If they Sox are gonna be this bad next year they should bring in Veeck's kid and let him come up with some fun promotions to at least make it fun. Not disco records but something to get fans minds off the game.
  15. Five hits, lol. Boy our Sox are pathetic. Sad to see that parade of bad relievers come in game after game. p.s. Sox TV ratings have to be ridiculous. Nobody with a brain would watch an inning of Sox baseball. Are Royals coming to town? Can u imagine if they told the truth about people in the stands for that series? Cmon. There won't be 2,000 fans there Monday night.
  16. What a terrible game. Sox have had some clunkers lately. Four hits lol. Sox got the bad Vaughn today. He's such a .250 hitter.
  17. Tex that's out of character for you. You are my favorite gun owner in the world and yet u blast my priests at Bro Rice. As far as today's win, sorry folks we can build a staff around Clevinger. Keep him. That's one decent starter and only one. i've given up on Mr. Walk, Cease.
  18. Great post. If you are a sports fan this suckitude of this degree really can get to you. For instance in a long icy winter it's nice, awfully nice when spring training rolls around. Now there's absolutely no reason to want spring to arrive sports wise. There's absolutely no scenario that can fix this team quickly. It'll be 10 back in mid May again
  19. Yes. This is the team that wrecked my spirit as a baseball fan. Never before in my fandom has a team been so unlikeable. For example, in the past, even last year's .500 season, I could be willing to stand up for the White Sox, certainly specific players cause I loved Abreu. This year is one miserable trainwreck. It "appears" the team does not give effort. It "appears" it is poorly managed. And it most certainly is not built for modern baseball. In fact it is built to lose, lose, lose modern baseball games as it has miserable relievers and horrendous starters who walk way too many batters. The everyday players are unlikeable. Even the semi-likeable players like Vaughn have so many flaws in a majority of their at bats they are annoying. There's nothing in the minors to save our team. There's a GM and manager who appear among the worst in all of baseball. The owner is offensive to me. The way this season has gone with that ridiculous early season losing streak and the obvious quitting after that means this season is BY FAR the worst Sox season in my lifetime and it has ruined my interest in baseball. I stopped watching games about a month ago and I've canceled my MLB for next season. I do normally check the game summary and box scores still. Goodbye White Sox. It was a great run, great to know you, when you guys tried to field a winner at least.
  20. Smart bettors bet the house on Detroit to win each game. Tigers smashed the Sox at GRate. Sox will sleepwalk. Sox pitching is really awful right now. Not a good park for hitters and Sox as we know can't hit. Because the Sox have checked it in, bet Detroit each game. Ka-ching goes the cash register.
  21. I was furious at the pick but to be fair have mentioned that many times since and admitted I was wrong. Like I said he was close to becoming the only player on the team that for me was likeable. I was close to being a Burger enthusiast. ... Moving him to second was such a joke. It shows you partly how the inmates run the asylum so to speak. I'm assuming they didn't want to anger Moncada by moving him to 2B even though that woulda made for a "decent" infield lineup. Burger, TA, Moncada and Vaughn is not the worst infield in the majors. Moncada, TA, Burger and Vaughn is laughable.
  22. Sox play too many unwatchable games for a sane person to buy season tickets. Hopefully most ticket holders will not buy 'em.
  23. Sox finally win a game. HRs from three guys who would make a big difference in the lineup if they had fantastic seasons. Colas, Moncada and Vaughn. I will say this about Vaughn (.259 trending upward). He tries to hit a home run every at bat and occasionally blasts a shot over the wall or finds the gap. Sheets is finished but there still may be an iota of hope for Vaughn.
  24. The team reeks, but Pedro is battling Bevington for worst Sox manager ever.
  25. Your passion is commendable. I've given up long ago. On my mlb.com cancellation it asked why canceling. One of the choices was "team not doing well." Our team blows. They get blown out. When they try to blow somebody out, they effortlessly blow the lead. And by the way Cease is nothing special. He's just another guy.
