Where can i buy bear spray? Is it legal? I won't just give them the car unless maybe if it's a rental. I guess if they like in the movies have the gun pointed at me at my chin or something I would get scared and maybe do whatever they say. Given a fighting chance, I'd resist however. Tex would u resist or keep your vehicle?

I need a firearm or mace.

Who cares about me. I want the person who gives me the nightmares to pay with jail time. Plus I'm not like that. I'd be more angry than petrified. I probably wouldn't survive such an incident anyway cause I'm not giving some punks my car. I "might" go ahead and relinquish it if it's a rental.

Of course. If they carjack me or anybody else I'd like them to pay for their transgressions in jail. Also I see society crumbling if we let vicious crime go unpunished.

The suburbs will charge those who get caught, though. That will keep them at bay possibly.
  6. I always find it amazing when people are lucky enough to sit by a celebrity or somebody like Tony, get that person to tell them some things and then go blab everything to the world. It just seems kind of inappropriate to me. Just say you sat next to LaRussa and he said some interesting things and leave it at that with a picture. People never cease to amaze. Tony probably shouldn't have given the fan a Rodon update but the fan also could show some class and not repeat everything Tony said. Just my take. I've had a couple occasions in which I've run into somebody well known in a captive audience situation and they've told me some interesting stuff that I wouldn't just blab to the world.
  7. Did Avi like his time in Chicago? I love that guy and he's still only 30. Would love to see him come bak. At the same time Sox may need to throw Sheets and Vaughn out there in RF. They are good players. ... Is Eloy married to left? Would he ever go to RF like Dye and play there?

Anybody brave enough to start an Aaron Rodgers thread? Not so sure the topic would last long. I'll stifle lest I get in trouble.

Hmmm ... carjacking is one of the most serious crimes imaginable along with home invasion. Anybody guilty of these crimes deserves some PT, prison time. Getting lenient with these perpetrators is WRONG as Chicago will find out when the city is a ghosttown in a couple years when people move OUT.

Thanks for the advice. What about mace as an alternative?

Need to educate myself more on purchasing a suitable firearm for protection.

Not in Mt. Greenwood. This is home of Chicago police and fire fighters. Some rugged guys and women. Not sure why the thieves are hitting my neighborhood. But I would think the police in that neighborhood are figuring ways to catch these punks. Not sure how many elderly live in Mt. Greenwood. I know a woman who made her elderly parents move to her house in Colorado because she was afraid the punks would see mom and dad walking to the curb with use of walkers and deem the house an easy mark for home invasion.

Be careful out there. Not sure what people can do to protect their own stuff. https://patch.com/illinois/beverly-mtgreenwood/catalytic-converter-crooks-hit-mount-greenwood?utm_term=article-slot-1&utm_source=newsletter-daily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter
  14. Me too. My Sox fandom already has lessened because I don't approve of what has happened to game in terms of how it's played. Only thing keeping me hanging on as a baseball person is being a fan of a specific team, Sox. If they can't please both sides when they are charging so much for food, drink and parking, the heck with MLB. I was not crushed when Sox lost to Houston in playoffs. That's a first for me. Someone can compare my posts of 10-20 years ago to now in terms of anger at the team when it is eliminated.
  15. The Chiefs fans do the chop also. I personally don't like the chop. Grown people doing that seems silly and if it offends Native Americans should be eliminated IMO. Life's too short to go around offending people when it could easily be eliminated. I think somebody was saying KC Chiefs could just as easily switch to KC Chefs. Have a baker's hat be the logo.
  16. Spiders is perfect! Just my opinion, but Guardians sounds woke so it was a no brainer to pick that name to please the mob. Cleveland Spiders would have been special. Guardians sounds either a.) mighty woke or b.) like a life insurance company. Me no likey. Spiders forever.
  17. Tony has lost all credibility with me. I was a big fan of the move to bring him aboard, although I would have been OK with the team jettisoning him after news of the second DUI came out. Tony had a full month to think about the playoffs. I thought he would magically lead this young club to the title. Instead the Sox got smoked. Considering the quick flameout, RR shoulda been allowed to manage the team another year. Tony has quickly agreed to the new baseball norm of only using a starter 2 or three innings. And he's OK with the lift and pull offensive strategy. HR or K is fine with him. Disappointing. He's just another guy, nothing special IMO.
  18. Madrigal obviously doesn't fit the criteria for a ballplayer in 2021. He makes contact and will never blast a ton of homers. I liked him, though. The guy from the Guardians who came over didn't show any power as a member of the Sox.
  19. Please, please please baseball gods, give Ozzie the Pods' job. Certainly he's been humbled by what went down in Miami. They could and should have a clause in his contract regarding his behavior in terms of public comments. Now we all have freedom of speech in the USA, but the Pods could add a clause saying he can be terminated without pay if the organization deems any of his statements to the press detrimental to the organization as determined by a committee of select individuals to be chosen after Ozzie's firing.
  20. No. No. No. No. No. Cmon now. You can't go implying Steve Stone has a 'pattern' going on. He's a baseball guy who is paid to assess skills, effort, etc. Give specific examples or apologize to Stone.
  21. Nobody except Tim really hits for average any more. Sheets did fine in terms of new baseball. Uppercutting home runs and striking out. He looks like he's going to be very good. He had a great junior season in college and was a second round pick. He turns 26 in April so it's pretty much now or never for Sheets in terms of today's productive years before being dismissed as aging. He's got 5 seasons of raking ahead and the clock starts now on that.
  22. Regarding my own eye test, Jose had a lot of bad at bats last season when I was watching. Almost like if he worked the count deep he ended up striking out and if he went to attack the first or second pitch he grounded out. In the past, the games I watched (many of them, I wouldn't say most of them) he saw the ball, hit the ball, raked the ball. He had a bleep ton of RBIs again so he had a good year again. I wonder if he can do more next season tho.
  23. Abreu is still a vital cog. I hope he stays healthy. This team's flop in the playoffs really changes my outlook on the "rebuild." Sox pitching staff is really in shambles following the decline of Keuchel and dead arm or whatever Rodon had. Also, Lynn wasn't exactly money in the playoffs and Cease wasn't either. The bullpen is not lockdown. Liam had a nice year but also was far from automatic. The lineup? Injury after injury. Rick Hahn needs to address injuries. No excuse when you are a team like the White Sox to not have the BEST trainers. Maybe the Sox do have the best. I sure hope so. As far as Jose ... I could see him having an even better year next year. If I had to guess ... a monster year next year and Sox win it all. After that his decline begins. Sox lineup could be deadly with Robert and Eloy and Adolpho coming with Timmy and the many other bats. Sheets looks like a star; Vaughn and Burger MLB quality bats.
  24. And a shortened season championship would be so bad. The Sox's young players need to play during this window of opportunity. It's not all about a short season WS title; it's about enjoying the emergence of Eloy, Robert, Moncada, Tim, Collins, Sheets, Vaughn, Burger.
  25. With all the Sox injuries (yes Leury gets hurt, too) he's a pretty important piece of the roster/lineup.
