If this is the end of Tony's managerial career, I wish him good health and more years of retirement in Arizona nowhere near the White Sox. If this is the end, an extensive and legit search better take place. AJ would be a train wreck. No experience and likely a bad fit for the Latin players. My choice was/is Sandy Alomar Jr. Great background and learned under Tito.

GT 8/30: KC @ 'SELL THE' SOX, 7:10, NBCSC

If I had a nickel for every shutdown inning we gave up runs I'd have enough $'s to buy this team. -

Gavin the lawn dart. Sigh, not his fault they're playing a 1B in Right. Yeesh. -
I hope he's ok, I truly do. As a person not that much younger than Tony, they don't have to make up medical issues. They can pick any one of a dozen maladies that impact us "seasoned citizens". Just pick one and allow him a gracious exit.

Valid point. And why is it that we had to replace those players with Elvis, Leury and Adam? Because Hahn didn't do ANYTHING to improve this team since the 2020 off-season. Last year's trade deadline weakened the team. Nothing was done in the off-season to improve (I know we signed Ceuto, but that only came as an emergency move when Lynn got hurt. VV was Hahn's choice and he gave him a ML contract.) This trade deadline was nothing because Hahn gave away any valid trade pieces the last 2 years and our minor league system was at the bottom of baseball.

It doesn't matter. Jerry will blame it on injuries and the only one to get fired will be a clubhouse attendant. And the only reason he'll get fired is because he threw out a roll of tape that still had 3/4" of useful tape left. This organization is the epitome of Bush League.

8/27 GT: Sox v. Snakes @ 610CT

I'm not sure what's more pathetic; this team or that I am still watching this garbage. The utter depression for me is that no matter how much we suck and lose games, JR will bring back this stiff and blame injuries for the performance. -
I thought mine was too.

Ummmm, isn't that what a hitting coach and a HOFBP are paid to fix?
-
He's an arrogant, egotistical, narcissist. He thinks he is the smartest guy in the room and we are mere peasants. He could not care less what we think or say. If he EVER steps down it will be because "today's players are just uncoachable", not because the game has passed him by and he is the laughingstock of baseball. That's just my opinion.....I could be wrong.

Eloy will sit for 4 days and then they'll IL him with a torn meniscus.

Even if we get Robert back, Elvis balls out, and somehow Katz stops Gio's bleeding we still don't win this division. Watch the two managers this weekend. Francona will embarrass the HOFBP all series. There's a reason Cleveland kicks our ass and it's not the talent on the field. Give Francona our lineup and he wins this division going away.

8/18 Finale vs. Astros (Giolito v. Garcia RHP) 1:10 PM

Back to reality. This team did what EVERY team in MLB does in a 162 game season; won 5 in a row. It was a total mirage and today brings us back to reality. We go to Cleveland 3 back and will leave there 4-6 games back and done. No "fear" of a stretch run to save the season and TLR's job. Clean this entire front office and coaching staff out please. -
Borderline criminal with a roster that mashed the ball last year. Frank thinks its 1959. Thanks Tony.

They need to get this done NOW. It is a no-brainer. We clearly have no truly major league ready SS to throw into a 3 team race with 6 weeks to go. Even if Andres is a bust, he's a proven major leaguer that could give you some upside the last 6 weeks. It would be baseball malpractice by Hahn not to get this done. Wait a minute.......Hahn...... never mind. He'll blow it or TLR will platoon Andres with Leury/Sosa/Romy.

Here's a thought..... stop f'ing sliding head first. That's at least the 3rd time he's gotten hurt doing that between the Minors and here. Go in spikes high and it will be the last time the 2nd baseman drops his knee in front of the bag. Take off the oven mitt and sharpen your spikes.

Please let this be the case. This organization is so dysfunctional that firing FM isn't a given this off-season.

Tim Anderson out 4-6 weeks with torn ligament in his hand
PitchatRisktoZisk replied to chw42's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think there are many of us that would sign up for that right now. However, JR/RH/HOFBP will NEVER do it. Get ready for signing of Didi or Simmons to play SS while TA is down. Leury is hurting and having him be the everyday SS doesn't allow TLR to suboptimize multiple positions a week with Leury stuck at SS. -

Fabulous, thanks. Just the "face of the franchise" the Sox and MLB wants. -

Forgive my ignorance and I am NOT trying to troll, but what are Tim's "personal issues spilling into the public"? I am not in Chicago so I don't get much of the inside stuff except from this Board. Thanks! -
I'll bet you anything that in the off-season the team "leaks" a story from their paid shill Nightingale that Yoan was suffering from "long COVID" all year. Then they'll say that he's doing great and will be back to his real form in 2023. This will be leaked a few days before 2023 season tickets go on sale.
