  1. That's my biggest fear the next 2 weeks. If we're within 4 games of Minny before the deadline, the dolts on the FO will think we're in it. We need to be 10 back to feel "safe" they won't screw up the deadline. The only saving grace is JR is using his mouthpiece (Nightingale) to signal a purge is coming.
  2. Sorry for being out of the loop, but what were Kopech's off field issues? I'm well aware of TA's foibles but not Kopech. Thanks.
  3. I have the same numbers of homers as TA in the last year. WOO HOO!!!
  4. They absolutely would have been far better. Everyone would "index" back one spot in the order. Graveman in the 8th, Kelly in the 7th (when he's going well), Santos/Middleton in the 6th (7th when Kelly starts to suck). Bummer and Lopez only pitching in "losing" situations.
  5. Spaghetti isn't the only thing Anderson is no longer getting at home.
  6. Raise your hand if you thought it was a good idea to let Jesse see the Toronto lineup a 3rd time? Sit down Pedro!!!
  7. The Angels announcers are laughing at Grifol. "Last night he took out his good defensive catcher in a tie game when you need D..... tonight they take Sheets and Grandal out when they're down.......huh?!?"
  8. Hopefully we're 20 under in mid-July and they sell EVERYONE. Keep Robert, Cease, and Kopech. Sell EVERYONE else, even if it's for pennies on the dollar. This core needs to be blown up so we can have a chance to reboot this thing. Of course, it's all folly as long as Jerry owns the team but at least we might get some players that we care about.
  9. Anderson is fine. The shoulder/day to day announcement was cover for pulling him after the bonehead play on the steal attempt. He was "counciled" in the dugout and was not happy. Magically an inning later and poof...... shoulder issue.
  10. I'm shocked Tim rolled weakly to the left side with a man on 3rd and less than 2 outs. Yeesh
  11. Not after April. In Jerryland, this is called progress!
  12. I'm shocked Jerry didn't order Pedro to hold Liam out of a game until this weekend. Try to build up the attendance (and associated parking and concessions) for a few days anticipating his debut. Gotta sell those $12 beers
  13. Really Tim?!? Is that the "Field" Museum? Marshall "Fields"? Elysian "Fields"? Because it sure as hell isn't a baseball "field". I get needing to believe in yourself to play at this level, but delusional thinking is never good. Start working harder to understand situational baseball, take the ball the other way with a man on 3rd and less than 2 outs, and get your feet in proper throwing position rather than dropping down 3/4's and lollipoping the ball to first. Yeesh.
  14. Grandal responsible for all 3 runs, imho. Tried to backhand a pitch that even a below average catcher shifts and blocks easily. Then, after Zinino is woefully late on 2 fastballs, he calls nothing but breaking stuff until the count goes full. Then surprise, he hits the sinker for a home run. This stiff can't end his Sox career soon enough for me. Wasted 5 years and almost $70 million. Yeesh.
  15. Not going to happen, imho. The "artificial" races sell tickets and TV Ad revenue down the stretch for otherwise meaningless games. Owners (I'm looking at you Jerry) can say....."we finished 2nd and weren't eliminated until September 29." Keeps the fantasy of "competitive windows" open longer. Saves manager's jobs because they made the playoffs or "just missed". The billionaires won't change the cash cow after finally getting expanded playoffs.
  16. I slowed down the video tape and watched it 50 times. I'm 100% certain he said "I hate paternity tests"
  17. How do you not drop him to the 5 hole and move Robert up to the 3 based on how both are swinging the bat?
  18. How about Monday when he steps down?
  19. He sucked before he got here and he sucked for us. He's 36 years old and is what he is. He's lefty and that's the only reason teams still give him a chance. The Rays will use him ultra low leverage situations and maybe a spot where Cleavinger would have pitched. Total meh move.
  20. When JR wants to send a message, the mouthpiece writes a column. JR wanted it to be known a) ALL the on field failure is on the players, b) talk of "accountability and responsibility" by Williams and Hahn was them being good soldiers who have been let down by the selfish, lazy players. Also, thanks JR for making sure the Sox had ZERO trade leverage with Gio. We all know you weren't going to resign him, but maybe the "illusion" we had an interest (in even a QO) might have sweetened whatever deal we ultimately make for him. The clown show continues unabated.
