Yup, that idea makes no sense. As others have stated -- gotta hope that Lindor STAYS in CLE, because if he goes, they get a lot of good prospects in the future that will harm our time to compete.

So, I've been reading some more, looking at some statistics, I'm starting to come around to Keuchel and it seems Edwin doesn't have many suitors other than us which could be really good for a nice, small, 1 or 2 year deal... can't complain about that. Is there any chance we sign Edwin AND sign Puig? I just really like a Puig signing as I don't think he'll get more than one or two years, he has extreme potential, and can be a competent outfielder.
-
can we please get puig instead of edwin ?? that'd make me happy

Edwin is such a White Sox move. More low end mediocre players to the line up. The only reason this team is spiking in terms of hope is because the division sucks.

Hoping for one of Puig/Castellanos/Ozuna and a RP

Keuchel to Sox, 3 years, 55.55 million; 4th year team option

Keuchel will be interesting.... this is a good thing i suppose -
Acuna and soto
-
Agreed with this train of thought. A lindor move and extension would keep my pessimistic mouth shut for a long ass time. Lindor is a top 5 player in all of baseball behind/around Trout/Acuna maybe Yellich.

nvm im not going to shitpost

I'm being sarcastic, sorry! Just so tired of the White sox and dumpster diving. I'm losing my mind.

so uhh no one is talking about this, but why can't we just trade madrigal for snell, vaugh for sale, and sign keuchel? rotation Snell, Sale, Gio, Kopech, Keuchel and we win the next 2 or 4 world series

Eno Sarris Biggest Remaining MLB Needs And How To Fill Them - CWS

Those are the logical moves, but my god are they ugly. -
Yeah... it's pretty bad.... https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/payroll/ The thing that annoys me the most is the way that they'll end up spending the loose money... on below average players like always. They'll sign a flurry of old vets or young guys that have stunk, get the payroll to 90+ and consider themselves good to go. Chicago really should be above league average.

Yeah, as this offseason goes on it looks more and more like the organization is content on making a run at it in 2021 instead of 2020. At least, that's the optimistic way of looking at it. The pessimistic way of looking at it is that this organization is incompetent.
-
Im glad that the White Sox aren't getting Bumgarner.
-
Once again -- as bad as I think the White Sox are... the Indians organization is twice as bad. This is flat out awful for the Indians fan base.
-
As shitty as it is to be a White Sox fan... the Indians might be 10x worse. The idea of having Lindor, Ramirez, and that pitching staff and a) NOT going all in by buying some free agents and b) openly losing your home grown players already, SUCKS.
-
Holy shinkies batman, you would trade for Price straight up? That's not going to end well.
-
There's no reason to lock this. This is a very intriguing idea and a "4-d chess move". This is a move that only those with BIG IQ's will 'get'. I'm totally IN on listening to offers for Moncada and Giolito. But why stop there? Let's sell Kopech too, that guy is an injury waiting to happen, and also let's find someone who will take Eloy.

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.

Spankees look DAMN scary getting Cole AND getting Severino back. -
I'm WAY on board with Beni. I would love to root for him. I would certainly be interested in this deal if Boston comes down to reality AND it would make this offseason pretty damn successful if you ask me (and I am a HATER of what Hahn has been doing in this offseasons). Do I think it will happen? Eh, 8% chance. Boston *should* do something about their horrid financial situation to make an attempt at keeping their star Betts, but will they?

Madrigal and vaughn for sale and beni

Last years debacle made me stop following the team for an entire year. This year I went into the offseason with virtually no expectations. Somehow, Hahn & co. are managing to fuck this up too. Grandal was a good deal. Mazara was an objectively good deal (albeit, we could have just signed a C level OF an kept out S. Walker and been in the same position). It's more of the fact that the White Sox, who have such large financial ability, are completely out on all the top free agents that would ignite this team. Cole? Strasburg? Exactly what we need. Rendon? Maybe not exactly what we need, but could have got him for the Machado deal we reportedly wanted to give out. It feels like ownership is being greedy, they are likely making tons of money for themselves off this organization, yet they aren't putting money in. Making matters worse we see teams that beat us, like the Phillies and Padres, continually pouring funds and trading to get amazing players. I just don't want to hear Hahn's bullshit, I just want to see us involved where we should be. Last year: Why couldn't we get both Harper and Machado? At least in Machado's case there's no reason we shouldn't have been able to get him. This year: Why couldn't we up the offer for Rendon? Why were we not involved with Stras or cole at all. Why not go grab Castellanos now as well? etc.
