The South Bracket (San Antonio)
Dude they are getting wide open looks, players of this caliber will sink those shots. Lavender's wasn't the best shot but it took some skill to get separation with that dribble fake.

The West Bracket (San Jose)
VCU not only won the game, they f***ed Duke up in the process, just cause they could. That was fantastic.

The West Bracket (San Jose)
That was a fair foul against VCU I thought. But they seem to be in favor of Duke. I love the way VCU plays.

Duke alumni have clearly compromised the referees.

Prospect Comparisons
Care to elaborate? I am curious as to who you would project the prospects to.

Prospect Comparisons
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 04:45 PM) I dont know how you got just about any of those comparisons. Simple. I think in their pro careers they will produce hitting and pitching stats (I tried to consider defense as well but that becomes tricky) somewhere between the players listed, one being positive and one being negative. For hitters I thought about contact, power, plate discipline and pitchers control, stuff, how hittable they are. You object to my projections but have no qualms with Santana, Rolen, Kazmir? Get real.

Prospect Comparisons
Somewhere between the following players... Josh Fields: Brandon Inge-Pedro Feliz John Danks: Barry Zito-Ted Lilly Ryan Sweeney: David Dejesus-Jacque Jones Gio Gonzalez: Erik Bedard-Casey Fossum Lance Broadway: Matt Morris-Kyle Lohse

Floyd article
As the article implies, Floyd will win the job because of intangibles you cannot see on a stat sheet like mechanics, coachability, etc. Too many people here are concerned with spring ERA.

Is it fair to use Meche's contract to set values in the market? It should be obvious to everyone that Kansas City isn't going to ink any sought-after free agent pitcher at fair and especially not under value. They haven't won more than 65 games five of the last six years. How the hell else are they supposed to draw a free agent into what has been a mess of an organization in Kansas City other than throw an assload of money at them? If an agent's starting point to me was" Gil Meche is an $11M/year pitcher, let's work from there", I would show them the door.- music

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 10:39 PM) Poor Padres. Kouzmanoff should be on there for sure and I'd take Carrillo over several of the pitchers at the bottom of their list.- LOST! thread
I was thinking that after Hugo somehow managed to get the van running, he and Charlie would look at each other with total amazement, causing him to not see an oncoming tree limb which breaks through the glass and kills Charlie. What a perfectly ironic twist that would've been, huh? Anyway, I did not care for this episode at all. Hopefully last week wasn't where Lost jumped the shark.- Baseball Prospectus
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) No it isn't. Do your research and you'll have a much better edge in predicting the results. You can't do that in dice. Crapshoot means unpredictable or risky, not totally random. BP's success rate is under 50%. It's easy to say the Yankees will be good or the Nationals will be bad, but placing teams in exact division finishing positions? Good luck.- Baseball Prospectus

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 05:51 AM) Saw this on a FoxSports Team Report; Does he really make THAT much of an impact for this team when he's playing well do you think? Look at April, where Pods was s*** at the plate with a line of .233/.281/.311. We were 13-1 in April games which he recorded a hit. Now for June, Pods hit better with a line of .245/.318/.362, but this is still quite poor by leadoff man standards. Well in June we were 14-2 in games which he got a hit. So to answer your question, he makes a pretty big impact when he's not playing well. But like others have said, we obviously have a better chance of winning games where men are on base for our 3-4-5 guys.- The Office

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 09:54 AM) How was this a bad episode? They reveled not only where the others lived to the survivers, but revealed that they have yards, and a whole community. Then it was reveled that some of the captives are still alive and there to watch. I thought this was one of the best episodes yet, they are starting to reveal things to us and the survivors. Last night's episode is currently the second-lowest rated episode of the entire series at TV.com. - Levine reports Sox and Buehrle to talk
