PCA is a big fat crybaby with a contract extension
The Cubs aren’t such a beast that they can just toss out these contracts and expect no repercussions if he doesn’t become the player that they are paying him to be. Thats a big problem if their star CF and top of the order hitter disappears

https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/cubs-news-cubs-pete-crow-032753724.html Very interested to see if he is able to adjust back to the adjustment made to him in the second half last season, not sure if I would have given him this paper just yet His ST stats weren’t so great

What do you mean they didn’t get one guy? They absolutely got Crosby, and if they had buyers remorse and cancelled the deal because they didn’t want to give up picks, that sucks because they went ahead and changed the entire landscape of free agency from that point forward, and now they are forcing the raiders to have to go back and figure this out after they committed a bunch of money post-trade. Legal, sure whatever it’s in the rules. But this sucks and they are slime balls for sure IF the reason is they realized that keeping the picks is better and came up with a physical for the Out

You can, but it’s always easier to stomach when something happens to your kids under your own watch as opposed to when others are taking care of them.

I think CJGJ is probably the most likely there and Brisker least. They just don’t trust Briskers ability to keep that brain safe

They are trying to say that the bears aren’t getting these picks because they don’t want teams to try and game this scenario. I just don’t know what to say about that, this wasn’t a mad scientist plan to get the bears a few extra 3rds, this was the league refusing to honor their own offer.

Considering the cap situation and Dalman retiring, I think this is probably better overall at plugging holes than what I foolishly wanted which was to go all out on Linderbaum or Crosby. It’s a whelming offseason, not over or under

Mike Evans to the 49ers seems like Randy moss to the 49ers. Gonna be a little fun but that’s not the guy he used to be anymore unless he can stay on the field

It’s a weird opinion from him. He is basically saying f*** the cap, don’t worry about it, it will continue to rise. Ok yea that’s fine but you can’t sign a guy based on your projection of the cap and where that amount will be in 3 years, you have to sign him based on where it is now and hope it keeps moving so you can continue to build, not so you can continue paying a guy you signed 3 years ago. All of us have joked that the cap is a joke but it’s not so much a joke as it is a timed shell game. Some teams are fucking amazing at spotting the time to move on from players and other teams always seem a year too late on acquiring THAT guy. Bill doesn’t really address that players salaries are also rising, he acts as if cap manipulation is just something easy and everyone can do it, when in reality it counts on players redoing their deals (which spreads out bonuses and kicks the can down the road with a lot of teams) and things of that nature. It’s not something guaranteed to the front office. We have teams that act like Bill suggests, like the Cowboys, and it doesn’t really seem all that helpful looking at the results to just spend to the max every season with zero look forward
