Austin Jackson miniscus surgury, Webb TJ surgery, Petricka out for sea
Odds are surgery with 6-8 weeks recovery and MLB CF ready in 10 weeks. Trading for Bruce is highly likely now since he fills 2 holes. Sadly he's horrible in RF.

White Sox will chase Jay Bruce
Basically a left handed Avi. A massive upgrade at DH but a large enough downgrade at RF that he should never play on the field. Only makes sense if Avi is then traded for relief help. Amazing this guy hasn't tried moving to 1B.

White Sox Acquire James Shields
Not a bad trade/price for a #4/5 pitcher. Just doesn't make sense since SP isn't really a top priority right now. Improves chances for a wildcard spot so no real reason to complain.

Free MLB.tv with T-Mobile
nice, worked great. this should be in pale hose talk for a week since it saves people $100 and most of us should know someone with a t-mobile account looks like its 1 per t-mobile phone number so a family plan could potentially redeem an mlb.tv account for each line on their plan.

White Sox Sign Austin Jackson
Amazing signing, can't really say more than that. Possibly the best signing this offseason when you factor in overall value and positional upgrade. I was huge for signing Cespedes but Jackson for $5M erases all bitterness.

Cespedes Re-signs with the Mets
I'm still not counting out the Sox because the 3 year deal thats being reported is simply idiotic. Especially since the Sox only have a 4 year window to compete and only 2 with Frazier. A +3 WAR swing for the poorest corner outfielding duo in baseball is a gamble you have to take if you want to win. Hopefully I'm not putting too much faith in the FO offering Cespedes a fair deal thats on par with his future projections. Like others here, I suspect a 4 year front-loaded opt-out friendly contract (4/88M) is on the table or will be offered before he finally decides.

Adam Dunn Articles and Quotes thread
This bozo made 150K over the last two games riding the bench. Bring up Viciedo already!!

Nine Back in Loss Column
This is a pretty horrible division... You guys seriously think the Jndians are a .650 team or the royals are a .500 team? It'll come down to the Twins and Sox again. Probably 86 wins takes it Not really worried :|

White Sox vs. Oakland A's
Jenks had 4 BS all of last year... KW did a horrible job building this bullpen in the off season whats amazing is that the sox could be 11-1 if they had a real closer.

April 11th Game Thread White Sox versus Athletics
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 09:53 PM) With a Juan Pierre in LF and a Carlos Quentin in RF this team seriously could use a GOOD defensive outfielder for the late innings of close games like this. Pierre was one of the better LFs in the league last year... I agree KW shouldve signed a top OF defensive sub in the offseason though Tony Gwynn Jr (an elite defensive OF) basically signed w/ the dodgers for the league minimum...

4/8/11 - Sox vs. Rays - 7:10 (WCIU)
ugh 2 blown saves against two below average teams already... I hope this doesn't turn into another year of live or die by the bullpen. Especially with all of the FA bullpen help that was available.

The Possibility of a corner OF platoon
Quentin/Milledge/Teahen worst RF platoon in all of baseball... would rather just let CQ play

Payroll Too Big
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) Winning a division at this payroll level is not enough yes it is....... the playoffs are a crapshoot, everyone knows this. Stop whining, the '11 Sox haven't even played a game yet. I'll agree that KW could have used his resources better this offseason, but most said the same thing in the '04 offseason.
-
Your 2011 starting 3B is...
So does KW just try to dump Teahen now (with eating salary)? hes the 26th man making 5M...
-
Who is the best player on the Sox right now?
My video game ratings (overall) Top 5 Rios - 94 Dunn - 94 Konerko - 92 Alexei - 90 Danks - 90

Idea: Trade Jackson for Joba
Jackson & CQ for Joba & Gardner

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 11:08 AM) Grant Balfour to Oakland. 2 years, $8.1 million Hmmm He signed for cheaper than Jesse Crain This also makes the Ohman signing just look silly Wonder if KW went after him at all... seeing as how the 1st round pick was already gone.
-
So... is Kenny done?
Sox still need a consistent/defensive RF... Unless his foot vastly improved, Carlos needs to be on a team where he can DH 50% of the time. Hopefully KW works his magic.
-
John Danks
If you trade him it'll be at the '12 trade deadline (assuming youre out of it) Going into '11 and probably '12, Danks is our #1 starter. Danks and his agent know this, so why should he sign an extension unless it's for Ace money?

Kerry Wood signs 1 year, $1.5 million deal with Cubs
Wonder if he turned down 3.5M after or before the crain signing
-
Kerry Wood signs 1 year, $1.5 million deal with Cubs
what a steal if its 1.5M/1yr
-
White Sox sign Jesse Crain
Guerrier got 12M/3 while Crain only got 13M/3? great signing by KW
-
White Sox listening to offers for Buehrle
Only team I can see him willing to go to is St. Louis Plus he has an option for 15M in '12 if hes traded. (guess not any more) Buehrle for Rasmus seems fair
-
Crawford to Boston, $142 Million, 7 Years
hmmmm Crawford- ~5 WAR player for $20M over 7 years Dunn- ~3 WAR player for $14 over 4 What a steal for Boston...

Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
At first I wasnt looking forward to him being re-signed but his contract is basically 30.5M/3 (12,12,6.5) with the extra 7M/7 being a write off... I imagine after the Pena and Konerko signings that Lee and LaRouche (Plan B and C) are easily looking at 20M/2 contracts
