  1. Lester and Hamels are 35 and Darvish will be 33 in August
  2. Im sitting right around there. Stop telling people how wonderful the club level is! It is overpriced and doesn't feel like you are at the game. No bathroom lines, limited food choices a nice bar area that is inside if it is cold or raining/snowing. I am not certain how those are not over $100 for the opener. Been to every opener since 89.
  3. Real solid move.....I wonder if the good seats still available mantra had an impact. Friday should sell out for no other reason than it is Friday.
  4. The fear is that this front office has no history of succeeding in what they are setting out to do and the early results are not impressive thus when we see something like this it make us all feel that we are in for a miserable next 10 years so instead of realizing that we try to tell ourselves those that have failed miserably will now succeed and those telling us that they may not are wrong. It is the only way we can stay on as fans.
  5. Well at least the bullpen is rested.
  6. When JR sells the team New owner finds a front office that is not modeled after 1985
  7. 2017 was an absolute disgrace. In 2016 they played in the snow. Sat out there in 2017 for 3 hours with no rain. They act like it is 1915 where you struggle to communicate things to people. If I go out there tomorrow, I will not be coming back Friday.
  8. I had the folder and everything but being that there was no run off in my ward it was the treasurer and mayor it was rather simple. It was kind of funny as I didn't even go to the booth. Was easier to just walk over and put it in filling in the blank as I walked to the machine. I have liked Lightfoot since day 1. I really hope she wins.
  9. I voted today. Took the ballot and filled it out while walking to the machine to put it in. The judge running the machine just chuckled. There is no reason to not vote in this election it is beyond simple.
  10. The NL central is going to be great to watch on a daily basis.
  11. See it doesn't matter that he defense sucks, they didn't score.
  12. Yesterday the story was that Eloy does not call the ball lound enough....pop ups have mystified this team for a number of years. It's the curse of D'Angelo Jimenez.
  13. I am on gamecast how does one single on a pop up to short?
  14. This rebuild will fail miserably if OBP and defense are not taken seriously.
  15. Well the lineup tinkering didn't work the first go around. Palka is playing himself down to AAA....sweet baby james never thought I'd be looking forward for a Jon Jay activation.
  16. No we wouldn't a couple from Minnesota did the same thing a couple of years back. They pled guilty and got probation.
  17. https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-kim-foxx-cook-county-states-attorney-endorsement-1009-20161007-story.html Now we are finding out she is not qualified for her elected office. I hate the Sun Times and pay it no mind but I kind of still respect the Tribune. Alvarez may have had her issues but Foxx is the living version of Daniel Caffey from a Few Good Men. Her career was spent in Juvenile court she has no experience actually trying cases. Yet there she was being touted as the #1 choice. The Republican candidate should have been endorsed over her but that can't be the case in Cook COunty. Yet here we are now finding out how incompetent she really is and how she basically does not really care to enforce the law.
  18. Kind of plays into my thinking that this front office really doesn't know what they are doing as this type of stuff seems much more prevalent than them drafting or signing and developing guys.
  19. Kim Foxx has no business being the District Attorney and it is really a shame that media no longer exists in the fashion in which it should to inform voters of this. She literally is not qualified for her position. The failing legal system is what is hurting Chicago more than anything right now and it is not just about holding the police accountable, it is about enforcing the rule of law and her office is not doing that. Precwinkle should not get a single vote but it is Chicago, she'll probably end up winning.
  20. I had a bit of a come to Jesus moment while watching MLB network pick ELoy and Tatis as Rookie of the year. If they both live up to expectations it will hurt losing Tatis but if Cease and Eloy make lasting impacts it really hurts the cubs so I can live with that trade off as assine irrational and stupid as it may seem....I guess I found a potential silver lining.
  21. Saw Rice v HF Saturday. I am going to opening day.
  22. The feds aren't picking up this case they are busy in Harvey, Ed burke's office and up in Rockford. The issue is not that he got off the issue is that Kim Foxx does not enforce the law and criminals are allowed to run free. The suspect in the off duty police shooting this past weekend was on probation when he should have gone to prison for aggravated assault. The officer graduated from Brother Rice greg.
  23. and if the White Sox did not intend on giving them market value they should have never have sat at the table.
  24. The avialability of those two options with no big team lurking is the issue. Those types of players are not hitting the market and they certainly are not again when all the big boys are looking at their taxes instead of signing them. If they got crazy money fine we can wallow in the $0.50 argument v the $1 but they both signed for $0.50 and we didn't want to spend out $0.50 instead we will spend $0.25 and cry poor
  25. None of those guys are getting useful pieces.
