I haven't seen the R's against. I thought Musk is a conservative darling. He's bringing jobs here which is an interesting mix. Our economy does well when y'all are paying big bucks for gas.

Someone has to take Keuchel's spot.

And those people putting on those stickers vote.

6/9 GT: LAD @ Sox 1:10pm (Cease vs. Anderson)

He's still recovering. His legs just aren't there. I'm not convinced he'll ever be back to All Star level, but I think next season will be better than this. -

I agree. -
I'm not a vehicle guy, I could care less, but not much less, about electric versus legacy vehicles. So from an impartial observer . . . I tow a trailer to remote areas without electricity. Currently the technology wouldn't work. I'll be traveling about 5,000 miles this summer and getting about 10 mph from my 3.5 Ecoboost. I will be off grid for weeks with no means to charge. Plus at about a 125 mile range when towing it would take me forever to get somewhere. Just like adding corn based products into fuel unintentionally caused problems for the poorest folks on the planet by raising the price of corn, electricity rates will increase as demand increases. This will place a strain on the poor who need electricity for basic needs. We also still need to work out paying for roads. Fuel taxes aren't being paid to fund the roads the electric cars drive on. Do we road tax electricity? Add an electronic vehicle tax on registrations?

He's so powerful he's raised them in every country. Worldwide! One call to Exxon, BP, Shell and we're at $2 a gallon. Why he allows those companies to earn such high profits is crazy.

Thank you. I was thinking the same thing.
-
The narrative will be "he lead the Sox to their first back to back playoff appearances" . . .
-
I agree. It might not be a promotion or even a lateral move, but he'll get another chance.
-
Exactly. I don't think there is much Tony can do. I believe that's Frank, Howie, and Yoan working together to solve the problem. I think we'll agree Tony has done a poor job of selecting coaches. Although he has managed to hire friends and family, (Duncan and Katz) so he's got that going for him. Which then leads to a logical conclusion that if we can't get Tony out, replacing a couple coaches would probably be faster route to improvement.

Your post I responded to said Harrison and Garcia. I was discussing Harrison. I thought you would just assume that. I shouldn't have assumed you would.
-
When Garcia was re-signed, Tony called him an everyday player who happens to be in different positions each day. Tony intended you play him a lot all along. Which I'm not totally against. While I prefer the "Sunday lineup" approach to resting players, rotating daily who sits works for some rosters.
-
The only disagreement probably is I place less than 50% of the blame on the manager.
-
Welcome to Soxtalk. While not totally disagreeing, when Tony does things that no other manager would do, and it fails, that isn't because he's dumber than anyone here. More likely it's hubris and desperation.
-
Because we truly don't know what decision he had to make regarding Harrison. We don't know what other deals they pursued and which agents or teams turned them down. As horrific as it sounds, this possibly was the best deal available. (I doubt this was the best but there are a very limited number of people that truly know with 100% certainty.) But, in the end this is a severely flawed team that the front office handed to a well past his prime manager with disastrous results. Yet knowledgeable fans bought into the hype at the start of the season. Knowing all the issues a majority of posters here predicted a first place finish and decent playoff run. To admit Hahn sucked this up is to admit you were fooled.

Please show me where I said Tony's poor performances are excusable? He should get his share of the blame. However, to dismiss players' impact on a manager's performance is just as ignorant a position as to put 100% blame on the coaches for their performance . . .
-
So Moncada will follow the poor approach at the plate instructions while batting .125? He's not a bright guy then. How much advance notice does he require before playing? "I thought I was playing tomorrow, but I'm playing today?! I can't hit under these conditions!" Amazingly there are non starters that can adjust. Just last week we saw some great pinch hitting. Do you think those guys knew in advance they would be asked to pinch hit? No doubt Tony isn't performing up to MLB standards but the players should get their share of the blame. Most everyone blamed Dallas Keuchel for his failures. They point to Garcia's general lack of talent for his inability. Harrison just can't hit anymore and was a poor signing. But other players get a pass and Tony blamed?
-
What do you think they could be doing that isn't the player's fault and the player would be back to last year's production as soon as Tony stopped doing it?
-
What is Tony doing that caused Moncada to hit .125? More importantly what is he doing that is causing Moncada to not be able to fix it?
-
I already know they would score the same. Their development is to be self coaching and not need someone telling them what to do all the time. My top players play the majority of tournaments away from me. They are playing on local, regional, and national tours all summer and at various times throughout the school year. They will play eight to ten events with me and 15 to 20 away from me and their teammates. I don't think amateur high school kids and professional athletes with years of experience are a fair comparison. But if high school kids can self coach and play well without a coach always present why can't Moncada? Is he feeling a little blue and needing a "win one for the Gipper!" speech? How about this motivational speech go play your position like you use to for about 10 years or you'll be sitting your ass down and not getting another big payday.
