It would be fitting. It was kind of amazing how badly attendance fell for Montreal this century. I always liked the international angle, which is why I wish baseball would add or relocate a couple teams to Mexico.

So would you give up baseball or become a Cub fan? College is different. They draw best from campus.

That's where the suburban location is key. Brand new stadium versus old. It could compete nicely against the old stuff around town. Anyone still going to the Aragon? Popular Creek? Warehouse? But it's difficult to beat events like: 1977 Pink Floyd, Animals Tour, Soldier Field. I only had my learners permit but managed to drive into the city and not hurt anyone lol.

And bring in a new team.

They don't need a new stadium. If JR is footing even part of the bill having a venue that could be used year round could be appealing. Attendance in April would be better. The Bears definitely need a dome. I'm not a fan of multipurpose stadiums but maybe someone could design one that doesn't suck for football.

It's been a few years since I was in Dallas for a Rangers game but the crowd was great. I'm starting to follow them a bit more.

When I was attending thirty to forty games a year in the 80s and 90s just having a competitive team and seeing a good game was enough. Dropping the payroll and playing guys who should be in AAA developing (tanking) would have been horrible. Not good games and not competitive. Once I moved things changed a bit. Then the five to ten games I attended didn't have to be great, I enjoyed being back. Now being a fan who did not attending any games this year and could easily not attend any next year, I don't care. If that's the fastest route to a multiple championship window, go ahead. I truly feel sorry for those who can and do attend games.

I see two options and four outcomes for next year: Trying to win and actually winning ? Trying to win and losing Trying to lose and winning Trying to lose and losing Only the last one are they proven to be capable of. But knowing this franchise they will surprise me and pick something like not having any plan and just treading water.

Perhaps five years ago I would have agreed. If that kid is his, and the mother is underage, we won't see him in the US again.
