I really liked the idea of BA leading a college team. I hope another program picks him up. Now they will be in the position of begging someone. How they aren't just cleaning house and starting new is beyond me. The only thing more embarrassing would be to join the PAC4?

Of the incredibly small likelihood of either happening I think moving and allowing another team to fill the spot is more likely than them ever selling. He threatened to move to Florida and the state literally turned back the clock to keep them here. Next time let them go. Move another franchise in. Burger is also a great example of acquiring the best athletes possible at the time and trading them for the necessary pieces in the future. It's nice to have a surplus to trade from instead of always digging a hole to fill a hole.

Divisions and leagues are arbitrary and based on the days of bus rides and business interests. Now TV and time zones. Head to head playoff wins is more meaningful than we beat these other teams more than you did so we are better.

Once we say that's not ideal, it's just a matter of how fast do you want to eliminate teams versus keeping them around playing. Baseball would be better right now if the teams below .500 went away and allowed the quality teams to play. Call it an expanded regular season if you don't want to call them playoffs.
