7/26 Sox @ Indians 12:10 CT
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 26, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) I want to sweep this series, but it probably will kill all trade talk. What a weird baseball team the Sox have. No it won't. They need to take 4 from Boston too though. 8 straight wins would get them to 50-50. Then they'd still need to go 35-27 to win 85 games. Just such a big hole.

Cueto to Royals
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jul 26, 2015 -> 02:25 PM) Adam Dunn paraphrase "I'm not being paid to hit singles". Long swings in 2 strike counts are selfish. Maybe you haven't been watching our DHs the last 5 years. It's hard to watch. Brutally hard to watch. Adam Dunn is right about that. He was being paid to walk and hit homers.

7/26 Sox @ Indians 12:10 CT
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 26, 2015 -> 02:12 PM) Would of been about the same really. Danks and LaDunn contracts on the books next year are awful use of money. Dunn would have more homers.

Cueto to Royals
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 26, 2015 -> 02:01 PM) That is a great haul for Cincinnati. Wow. It's a great haul for Cincinnati but KC doesn't really lose anything. They think that Finnegan is a reliever long-term and they didn't have to deal Manaea, Zimmer, or Mondesi. Great trade for both teams.

Cueto to Royals
QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jul 26, 2015 -> 11:46 AM) Sounds like Finnegan is part of the haul CIN got. Jon Heyman thinks it's LHP Brandon Finnegan and LHP John Lamb. That's a good haul for Cincinnati for a rental.

Cueto to Royals
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 26, 2015 -> 10:48 AM) Rental or are they going to sign him in the offseason? Strictly a rental. No chance they can sign him. Cueto will get an even bigger deal now with no QO attached.

Samardzija Trade Packages
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 26, 2015 -> 09:43 AM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 5m5 minutes ago Sources: #BlueJays still talking to #Brewers about Fiers. TOR numerous balls in air: Samardzija, Cueto, Price if he becomes available, etc. Ben Nicholson Smith is on Hit and Run. He mentioned guys like Aaron Sanchez, Dalton Pompey, and Anthony Alford as the type of piece the White Sox would expect in return for Samardzija.

2015 Cubs Catch-All thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 11:06 PM) Shh. He is getting them a front line pitcher. Trading Castro would be stupid at this point. He's a negative WAR player this year.

SoxNet: What To Do With Alexei Ramirez
Levine mentioned the Pirates interest in Alexei on the radio today. Ramirez to Pittsburgh for C Taylor Gushue. Is that too much? He's playing well right now.

Crazy Trade Deadline Predictions
Not so crazy but Alexei Ramirez to PIttsburgh for C Taylor Gushue

Matt Wieters?
THe key would be Baltimore trading him right now. Hopefully the O's deal him. Then the White Sox could sign him in the offseason without giving up a pick.

Attendance 2015
QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) My friends do a yearly baseball trip, and I've been to a few with them and some on my own. Wrigley The Cell Camden Yards SF (PacBell or whatever it's called) Texas' new one San Diego Arizona Of those, I loved SF. I think Camden and Wrigley are second. Arizona is terrible. San Diego and Texas seem artificial. I would rank The Cell after Wrigley and Camden, but I'd add that when its full or near capacity, it's pretty great. There's not much to do around the The Cell, but 90% of people go to the game and then home, so it's kind of irrelevant. I think Sox fans are just typical Chicago fans. They go when the team is good, and stay away when not. It's no different than Bears, Bulls, Hawks, or Cubs fans. All have plenty of available seats when they're not playing well. The Bulls were sold-out when Ron Mercer an company were on the team.

QUOTE (staxx @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 03:23 PM) I love the 110% effort you can tell he brings. This is not possible

Gillaspie to the Angels for cash
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 03:46 PM) Surprised the Angels are wasting their time on another Sox castoff. There was a time last year he had that sweet stroke going. But offseason came around and Gillaspie turned back into a pumpkin. Maybe with better instruction he'll be a good singles hitter to all fields. Freese in injured.

Crazy Trade Deadline Predictions
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 03:51 PM) I'm pretty surprised how much the tide has turned in regards to an openness by Soxtalk posters to moving Sale....seems like this was almost unfathomable to most last year at this time. Most people are against trading him for what they'd actually get for him. I don't think many would be opposed to trading him for Puig, Seager, Joc, and Urias. That'd be a ridiculous package.

2015 Cubs Catch-All thread
My guess is something like Price to Cubs for McKinney, Zagunis, and Tseng/Edwards

7/19 Games- Adams Promoted
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) Is that just because he's already gotten to a higher level? The impression I've gotten is that Danish also has a pretty low floor since his stuff isn't nearly that overwhelming and he instead relies on control and a deceptive motion. When he struggled a bit at AA people's instant reaction was "oh his deception is just getting figured out at higher levels". I think it's because Danish's floor is as a really good RH specialist out of the pen.

Scott Kazmir traded to Astros
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 02:17 PM) They wait way too long. There's no law that says they can't trade a guy before the all star break or get details worked out during the break when the team is as bad as this one. Bad, bad front office. Shark isn't the only guy that needs to be dealt asap. Greg, prepare to be disappointed.

Scott Kazmir traded to Astros
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 02:16 PM) I believe the freakout had one other major component, this tweet: Jerry Crasnick @jcrasnick 55s55 seconds ago The #Astros also had Jeff Samardzija on their radar, but couldn't afford to wait for #WhiteSox to decide on a course of action. People are taking that as meaning the Sox didn't know if they were buying or selling though. I don't think it means that. I just think it means they exchanged names with Houston and the Sox weren't ready to make a deal with them. Then Houston moved on with Oakland.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 01:15 PM) Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 20m20 minutes ago On value of sandwich pick -- observer thinks 31-40 in 2016 may not yield an impact player but could produce an evday MLBer. Better than '15. Definitely interesting to think about. This is a bad way of looking at it though. Guys fall in the draft all the time. The value in the comp pick is the flexibility that it allows you throughout the draft. Stop looking at the value of the particular player chosen with the pick.

There's a game tonight, right? Sox vs Cards
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 09:20 PM) Supposedly this team is really good. 33-12 at home with 2 losses to the White Sox. Ridiculous.

7/22 Games
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 08:43 PM) Rather see what Alvarez can do, as Rondon is just too awful offensively to be a legit prospect If Rondon could hit .210 in majors, he'd have a 10 year career. You don't give up on that at SS
-
7/22 Games
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 08:22 PM) Alvarez is playing SS. He's not going to play SS full time over Rondon though. Rondon is a defensive wizard.
