Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
once you put in a waiver claim, how much time do you have to make a deal?

8/3 GT - SOX @ Tigers - 6:08pm CDT - WGN
Harry: [reading statistics on the air] And the Indians drop this one, 6-to-one to the Rangers. For the Indians, one run on, let's see, one hit...that's all we got? One god-damned hit? Monty: [covering microphone] You can't say "god-damn" on the air! Harry: Don't worry. Nobody's listening, anyway.

that's hilarious. Here's to hoping for a fresh start in 2014, with Hawk being one of the ones left behind.

7/30 at Indians
QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 07:30 PM) Surprised Robin didnt just sit a bunch of guys, to stoke the trade deadline flames. Paranoia sets in as trade suitors realize that Dunn, Ramirez, DeAza, Peavy and Rios arent playing tonight. Emergency last minute offers, come in. 1. Wells- RF 2. Beckham- 2B 3. Konerko-1B 4. Viciedo-LF 5. Keppinger-SS 6. Gillespie-3B 7. Tekotte-CF 8. Phegley-C 9. Flowers-DH maybe my idea wasnt so far fetched after all, except for Tekotte being sent down before the game. Have nothing to gain by playing guys you want to move. Everything to lose. (Rios, Ramirez and Lindstrom)

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 07:40 PM) That's just the sort of lineup that would make everyone, myself included, want to run and puke, but yet they'd probably pull off a win. That's the beauty of it.

QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 07:35 PM) That lineup wouldn't ever happen. why not? At this point, who the hell cares. I also personally like Frank Thomas's idea of having the batting order determined by drawing names out of a hat. Said it happened to him twice in his career. Once with the Sox and once with the A's I believe.

Would the White Sox Ever Do This???
I think my original intent got lost in the posting. My thought was... if a White Sox player did something, similar to Ryan Braun, do you think the Sox would "make it up" to the fans by providing some sort of refund/rebate/credit? I wasn't saying, will the Sox run promotions... this to me, isnt a promotion. The Brewers are averaging 31,000+ per night at their games. They aren't hurting to put Fans in the Seats like the Sox are.

White Sox vs Braves 7:10 PM
QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 05:09 AM) PS, Cell looked absolutely packed on TV tonight, any specific reason? Just came from the game. 3 reasons 1. First game back post break 2. Fireworks night 3. Lots of Braves fans

I just noticed
That the Charlotte Knights have the worst batting average in the International League. Dead last. Glad to see the hitting woes arent just contained at the MLB level.

My Spring Training Visit
thought i'd share... went to Saturday nights record attendance game vs LA. Boy are Dodgers fans annoying. At home games, Sox dont enter the park till 30 or so minutes before game time. They just stay on the back fields and practice or in their facility. Went to Sundays game too, much better atmosphere. Tracye almost landed in my lap on that foul ball he slid about 10 yards to try and catch. visiting team has the stadium field to practice on. (for those autograph seekers) Guys who were willing to sign Robin was the best Harold Baines DeAza Viciedo Sale Dunn (quick in and out) Wyse Alexei Darryl Boston Some of the minor league guys Biggest dick about signing.. Jeff Kepplinger. Grumpily Says I'll sign after the game, then takes off after the 5th inning sprinting to the facility past the kids Konerko didnt make much of an effort, nor did Danks, Floyd, Flowers (the day he wasnt playing) Beckham, to sign. Overall great facility. Good food.

Xmas Gift Help
So my (and my friends) wife bought us each a Xmas gift that neither of us are interested in using. Was wondering if anyone here would be interested in buying it? It's the 8-lap qualifier, Rusty Wallace racing experience at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet. More info on the experience can be found here. http://racewithrusty.com/experiences.php If interested, please send me a message.

went last year with my wife. first time in a long time. Was worried about running out of wristbands with Chris Sale and John Danks signing at the same time. I grabbed Sale and she grabbed Danks. Got in the Sale line early, probably first 30 or so. Once he signed, we booked to the next floor for Danks. By the time we got there, they still hadn't given out all of the Danks wristbands (and this was shortly after his big contract extension) so I was able to grab a Danks one too. So we ended up with a co-signed Danks/Sale ball and a Danks signed event pass. Gotta say, both Sale and Danks were friendly and nice. Chit chatting, smiling, having a good time. Was awesome to see. I also thought the White Sox garage sale items were pretty cool. Got a game used lineup card (Sox vs Yanks) and replica World Series tickets for $50 total. Some stuff is insane though, price wise. A game used Mark Teahan jersey, $500 or some crazy number. Only attended one session, which was the coaches session. Hearing "Bob from Berwyn" busting Robin's balls about some players a year before not hustling down the line on ground balls was enough for me. Lasted about 15 mins. If you're bringing little kids, check out the family section. All sorts of games and activites sponsored by GM, Comcast, etc with the typical White Sox co-sponsored giveaways. (foam balls, t-shirts, temp tattoos, etc)
