  1. Does anyone know... Have the sox ever started a season where their #1, 2 and 3 hitters in the lineup, all hit .300 or greater the year before? Can't seem to correct the topic should be stat heads...?
  2. QUOTE (Stev-o @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 09:57 PM) Am I the only one who's not completely sold on Avi? Please reassure me. 29 rbis in 46 games last year. Works out to 102 rbis over a 162 game season. Guy simply is a run producer.
  3. any idea when they post the times for each day?
  4. Have they posted the Daily Schedules for SoxFest yet?
  5. Viciedo. Wasn't he our 3B of the future, anyway at one point.
  6. i have AT&t uverse where you can watch TV on-line. Of course MLB Network wasnt one of the 50 or channels I can do that with.
  7. I'd suggest attendance is heavily reflective on the disposable income of those living in a 5 mile radius of the stadium. Especially for an 81 game home schedule. I don't think its a coincidence that when we were in the go-go 90's, Wrigley and its neighborhood grew exponentially. Property values skyrocketed, higher income people moved in, and attendance rose. And of course you need those higher incomes to offset the higher costs of attending games.
  8. Super.. LaRoche suffers from ADHD that was diagnosed during his high school years, which occasionally leads to on field blunders such as in a game against the Washington Nationals in 2006.[19] LaRoche is a devout Christian who has helped the Washington Nationals promote "Faith Day" at Nationals Park along with teammates Denard Span and Ian Desmond.[20]
  9. A power hitting, left handed first baseman for the Nationals... what could go wrong?
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 05:58 PM) I'm confused by the way he wrote this. So did Zach Duke "allow" 20% of inherited runners to score, and the white sox 32%? Or did Duke "hold" 80% of runners and White Sox only 32%? Confusing switching of terminology there. yeah i saw that too. messed up wording by Dan Hayes. I think he meant that Duke allowed 20% to score, which the Sox allowed 68%.
  11. my personal plan only went up 4% this year. I think that's the lowest its ever gone up. Blue Cross plan.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2014 -> 06:53 AM) And you have aptly described why I do not care about the draft. Just give me wins. I agree with you. Win the game. It's important to create some kind of positive atmosphere. In the near future having guys like Carroll, avi, semien, etc finish with positives instead of negatives will help the team more. Draft picks are crap shoots. Those guys have already found their ways to the big leagues.
  13. So a 2 part question and would love to get folks thoughts on this. Will US Cellular undergo a name change? If so, when? I know that you can no longer acquire US Cellular products in Chicagoland, which makes the naming rights silly. Believe it or not, US Cellular is the 9th oldest stadium in all of baseball. Hard to believe its been 23 years all ready. How long do you think this stadium lasts before they knock it down/rebuild. Yes you have Wrigley and Fenway from the early 1910's, but after that the next oldest is Dodgers Stadium from 1962. Does US Cellular last another 30 years... 10 years??
  14. Not seeing dunn in a sox uniform has made my Labor Day weekend.
  15. Its a long shot. I'm not sayin, but I'm sayin... AVG= #5 at .312. Leader is .331 HR= #2 at 33. Leader is at 34. RBI= #1 at 96. 2 ahead of #2 at 94.
  16. He'll go down as one of my favorite Sox players of all-time. Always an awesome guy on/off the field.
  17. Lindstrom has 7ER in 4.2IP in AAA. So he'll fit in nicely in the bullpen.
  18. i dont like the idea of having the fan base designated into... you're a better fan then someone else. We need a big tent, not a smaller one.
  19. And the special recognition appears to be a Hat and T-Shirt to wear around town that says Foul Weather Fan.
  20. did anyone else get that survey last night from the White Sox?? About the idea for "Foul Weather Fans" for next April?? Personally, I dont like the idea/concept. To me, it has the underlying feeling of an insult. Especially to a significant portion of the fan base. I'm sure that's not their intention. But it could be misread as that.
  21. The top 3 teams also had new stadiums built during that period too.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2014 -> 02:26 AM) Keppinger makes an easy target. No one really cares about the guy enough to verify the story. I was at spring training in 2013. Keppinger was a grade a dick to the sox fans then, especially the kids.
  23. So 11 of the 12 outs he recorded were by K's. That's unreal.
