Haha I’m serious though. Shields was a low 90’s guy with a killer changeup and good command. Obviously he brings back bad memories for us, but his career would be a fantastic outcome.

I don’t see an issue with him knowing his limitations and doing what he can to contribute in other ways. If he didn’t, he’d probably be out of baseball. he’s not a first division regular, but he’s a definite major leaguer, which is more than can be said for a few guys we’ll be rostering.

Just got home, and the box score certainly looks good for Kopech. Unfortunately after skimming through these comments it appears his career is over and he’s changing professions.

I think he’s fine as a backup. His biggest enemy is his body, so playing a couple times a week I think he will be quite effective by backup C standards.

I would put my feelings as 85% positive if this were to happen. The other 15 is because we wouldn’t be as much of a south side team anymore. But overall, exciting.

Southsidesox is really bad since Margalus left imo. I’m as cynical and jaded as the next sox fan, but they’re just way over the top.
