Answer this for me, Soxbadger -- if we were to make it to the ALCS and the choice was between Vazquez on full rest, Richard on full rest, or one of our other starters on three days rest who do you go with? In order, for me, it'd be Buehrle/Danks/Floyd on three days rest, Richard, then Vazquez. And I'm not second guessing Guillen for today, either. I'm just tired of Vazquez. There shouldn't be a next time for him unless we have exhausted all other options. Over last four starts he has proven he can't figure it out. Whether there's a legitimate reason aside form choking I don't know. It's not like he hasn't pitched over 200 innings before. His velocity was good today, as well, so you can't blame injuries.

At 23, I'm sure I'll have more reasons to feel old later; but recently, the thought of going to school with people who were born in 1990 was different. Additionally, walking around campus at any one time and thinking "I'm probably older than 95% of the people on campus at this one moment" made me feel old. I believe it's all perspective though. Whenever I go out to bars I often come across people who are in the their late 30's, early 40's drinking with their friends. Not getting sloppy drunk, but just hanging out. It's a strange assurance to have. Makes me feel that when I become that age I can still spend time with my buddies at a local pub without thinking of it as unusual.

We've seen with Blackburn recently that even struggling pitchers can turn themselves around in one start, against one team. That's why I can't just blow off this game. We had our opportunities to win and blew it. No guarantee we'll do well tomorrow.

Yeah, I thought Wrigley Field had the intensity of an ordinary game. You really notice it when comparing to our game yesterday, for example. And I know there weren't many opportunities for the Cub fans to be excited, but after the grandslam it was just dead.

Cole Hamels is only 6'3? His frame gives the illusion of being much taller.

I'm sorry for just being myself. I don't even need to explain that. It's not October baseball without my claims the team is choking and for them to come around and prove me wrong. Before the final game of the Twins series I said that until we won a game in Minneapolis or the division, whichever came first, every post I would write would be only of people choking. After the sweep concluded I abandoned it because, I felt, I wouldn't be posting anything but a choking avatar until sometime around midyear 2009 at the earliest. They really surprised me. The entire celebration reminded me how good it feels to watch your team celebrate. I'd like to say right now I'll be happy no matter what happens against Tampa, but I know that isn't true. If they're leading every game by five runs and the bullpen surrenders the lead every game I'll be pissed no matter how well the season ended.

We don't judge pitchers if they pitch five great innings and just have one bad one. You have to do well from beginning to end. He hasn't done that. Even if you're reluctant to say he's not a big game pitcher, and a choker, the alternative is opposing players are seeing him well the second time through and that means either him or AJ/Hall have to do a better job of changing their approach to hitters.

I had it wrong all along. After the Twins series I thought we were the chokers, when really, they existed the series with .5 a game lead against us and were facing the Royals. It almost feels more fulfilling with this division championship because of what we went through, and the fact it was played at home and many fans will have good memories of tonight.

There should be a donation set up for every hanging breaking ball Blackburn throws. If last game is any indication we should do quite well.

Why aren't there five runs on the board off this scrub? Anything less than this by the five inning is failure. I'm seeing the same crappy breaking ball as I did in Minnesota.
