Gonna enjoy this one. Hope the bats come alive again. Minus those 3 Cubs games and the first Twins game, the offensive has been mostly bad since Yaz went down.

Rodon to IL with Shoulder Fatigue
Huh? I said I would ride Rodon hard because I think there is no way he's on the roster next year. I didn't say I would run him out there until his arm falls off. You're just making up the context of the comment. Of course the Sox need him in October - that should go without saying.

Rodon to IL with Shoulder Fatigue
Is World Series HFA this year back to whoever has better record?

Rodon to IL with Shoulder Fatigue
Yeah. I would ride Rodon hard because I have no interest in paying him after this eseason. If the IL stint is simply to give him 10 days off....I think its a good move. If he's actually hurt, well that's a big time bummer, but I am far from surprised.

Rodon to IL with Shoulder Fatigue
Kopech is a going to be SP. He has thrown 45 innings this year and is one pace to throw 65 innings. Rodon has thrown 110 innings. If Kopech has any prayer of starting next year, he absolutely should be taking at least a handful of starts down the stretch. Hope the Sox do that.

This is why you don't pay Carlos Rodon $18-20M AAV.

Completely agreed. He's been mostly terrible this season, and did nothing with his chance when Yaz went down.

Cesar Hernandez is getting on base for the Sox
Its not tho.

Zack Collins can't feel too good about things right now.

Sox Acquire Kimbrel; Madrigal, Heuer to Cubs
I mean....he's probably right?

Keuchel pitched pretty well last time out. If Engel doesn't fuck up on that ball in the 1st, its likely a scoreless outing.

Cesar Hernandez is getting on base for the Sox
Hernandez has been good. Plays a really solid 2B, and as a 9 hitter, which is what he'll be if this team is healthy in October, you could do so much worse. I hated the Madrigal/Kimbrel trade, but if Cesar can play like he has for the next 14 months, we'll be just fine at the keystone.

Robert back, Sheets Sent Down, Gonzalez Released
Seeing as though Lamb has had 1 at bat in 4 games since returning from the IL, including 3 national league park games, TLR may have outgrown that. It also begs the question why exactly he's on this roster. I guess its the left handed bat since we have so few, but he's going to be used so sparingly. My guess is the thought process is to get Sheets everyday at bats for a month or so as opposed to being a sparsely used bench bat.

Literally not a cloud in the sky here in MPLS and 15% chance of rain starting at 11pm. IT won't be raining.

What are you talking about? Counting today, AV has started 9 of the last 12 games. He hasn't sat 5 out 7 days or anything close to it. Should he be sitting 2/3 games? Fuck no. But its not wroth getting all upset about until it becomes a trend, and he certainly isn't stunting his growth. For all we know AV needed a couple days for some reason or another.

I am not really a TLR supporter, though I think he's done a pretty good job at this point. I just am not going to get up in arms about lineups everyday when its been made crystal clear to us that he's going to rest guys reguarly down the stretch. The benefit of a double digit division lead. Do I want AV playing over Leury? Fuckina right I do.

Guys - the sox have 10.5 game lead and I have a feeling we're going to get our A+ lineup pretty rarely the next 7 weeks. Stars are going to sit, probably frequntly. I too want Vaughn in the line-up, but you're gonna get awfully worn out from all the hand-wringing if you can't come to grips with the fact TLR is going to rest guys regularly down the stretch.
