  1. Like...I just don't see any other way this isn't a multi-year thing. Its either he steps away, or he's here until he can't physcially do it any more. He's never getting fired, and the Sox are going to be good, so they won't move on do to poor performance. Health issues is the only way. Its terrible, but man he's just such a debbie downer on what would otherwise be a super-fun, swaggy and new-age team. I literally hate him. Its terrible.
  2. I am not one to wish ill will or health on someone, but man. That might be what it takes to make this TLR experiment as short as possible. I would literally take ANYONE over him.
  3. Why not? Can just slide TA to catcher if need be.
  4. Ehhh, its whatever. Pick your posion with Lamb or Hamilton - one was going to play. Batting his 2nd is super dumb tho. I am glad to see Yermin is playing.
  5. I mean, I think TLR's quote about Tatis' swinging 3-0 in a blow out last year make it pretty obvious what his take on the matter is. I am sure he was out of the dugout shaking his fist at Yermin and I am sure Yermin got a scolding. Its super fucking stupid, but here we are with an old school manager. This will all blow over by the time we get to NY, and hopefully we can avoid a beanball contest today over a kid who was just doing his job and DGAF about old school sportsmanship when he didn't know if he'd ever get a real chance in the majors mere weeks ago. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/08/22/baseball-unwritten-rules-fernando-tatis-jr/
  6. Hope you enjoyed the game! Certainly not the full Target Field experiences with most of the non-generic vendors closed, but what a beautiful night it was!
  7. Hmmmm. 6 foot 9 260 man recalled to be the sacrificial lamb?
  8. Hah, yeah. Thanks for sharing. Hard to tell for sure, but he definitely looked upset. Based on Yermin's solemn face after the game, the Eaton-talk, and this clip, I think its fair to assume not everyone in the Sox dugout was supportive. Which is super fucking dumb.
  9. Can you share the link to the video, please?
  10. Alec Hansen has 8 walks in 3.1 IP in AA. I stopped reading there.
  11. It's a damn good lineup. I definitely have my concerns about an Eloy-Robert-Vaughn OF defensively, but offensively its masher's row.
  12. They can lose Pineda, one of their best SP, for the game in the first inning and further destroy their already terrible bullpen. I think Yermin takes one in the back at some point in this game, but I would be surprised they went after TA or frankly anyone early in the game.

    Grandal

A .132/.387/.316 is something else. A 30% walk rate. 33 BB / 27 K ratio. I wish he was hitting his career average, but what he is doing right now with the walks is incredible.
  14. They stuck Vaughn in RF for two innings yesterday. The product of a 16-4 laugher, or a showing of the hand that he may eventually be used there in the future? Half joking, but that very well may be his spot in 2022.
  15. Glad you enjoyed the game!!!! I was there too and if was awfully fun!!
  16. That was fun! Yermin gonna hit one in the back tomorrow from Pineda eh
  17. I will be there tonight (and tomorrow) cheering on the boys! Lets get a dub! Sad to see Jose will miss the series. Twins have a career infielder playing center tonight tho cuz Kepler got hurt yesterday too. They're just as banged up as we are. Let's find a way to get a W tonight!
  18. Well that sucks. At least the Twins are equally as banged up. 2/3 would be nice. Let's start with the W tonight.
  19. Why tho? I too think Madrigal needs to hit for some XBH rather than just being a pure singles hitter, but picking some arbitrary number as the cut off seems silly. He is currently on pace for around 35 XBH, and I don't think we've seen the best of him by any means. The doubles and triples and perhaps occasional homer will come. Not directed at you really - but people are trying to jam a square peg into a round hole around here with Madrigal. He is a unique player. He just needs to be really good at what he does well. This lineup has plenty of power - I still feel like he's a fantastic fit for a this team (when its fully healthy especially), and will be for years to come. We don't need our 9 hitter to hit 20 homers. That said, Madrigal has been pretty bad offensively lately so hopefully he snaps out of it soon.
  20. Where Madrigal was drafted is completely irrelevant at this juncture. Madrigal isn't a power hitter. When this lineup is healthy, it is oozing with power and the last thing they need Nick to do is provide power. They need him to play good defense, hit .300+ and not strike out. Madrigal is struggling a bit the last two weeks, but he is going to be fine. He just needs to become the best version of Madrigal, not some power hitting 2B or whatever mold fans think they need to get with the #4 overall pick.
  21. Have to imagine Hendriks is unavailable today unless really needed. We know he'll take the ball, but I'd use Bummer in a save situation in this first game. Maybe use Hendriks in the 2nd game if necessary.
  22. I mean if there’s ever a day to DFA Lamb, it’s tomorrow. Just not sure who would take his spot.
  23. Ummm Hamilton deserves more PT at this point. Two catches today to save the game that Leury probably doeS not make.
  24. Can Rutherford fake it in CF or nah?
