  1. Not trading the elite prospects and young guys in the MlB lineup was the correct decision. I would have traded the Stiever, Collins, Rutherford, Gonzalez type guys for some rental pieces, but not torn up they didn’t. I get the frustration from some fans, but this is the very beginning. Trading Vaughn or Kopech or Madrigal or Cease would have been a mistake we’d regret for years to come.
  2. Goins DFA'd. Literally in thread title and Fegan tweet. `
  3. Well fuck, he makes a ton of sense. At the very least, if the Sox don't acquire him now, hopefully whoever does non-tenders him as well because he'd immediately be the best RF fit on the FA market.
  4. Yeah, we could have had it him for basically nothing. Was worth the roll of the dice IMO.
  5. This would get me PUMPED. Probably too good to be true, but this is about my max offer. I'd do Lopez instead of Stiever if they preferred that, but I doubt they would.
  6. I know you do. I've just always been a Robby Ray fan. He's much better than his 2020 numbers.
  7. Are you going to riot and call the front office morons for prospect hoarding in season where you could go 60-0 and lose 2 out of 3 to the 8 seed and go home?
  8. Roll of the dice, sure. But he's historically been an average pitcher, and worst case you throw him in the pen or DFA him. Acquisiton price would have been cheap. Having insurance isn't a bad thing. But moot point now.
  9. Bummer, I would have liked Ray on the cheap.
  10. I'd be fine with that. Would try to keep Adolfo as I think we ultimately regret that one. Also if we're weakening our pen moving Heuer, we probably need to find another vet BP arm to bring in on the cheap.
  11. I mean - he still could be right. There are still 3 hours.
  12. He has been for the last 40 starts. I don’t think he will be for his next 35. LL is a rock solid #3 type. He’s good. He’s not a TOR pitcher. We can agree to disagree if you’d like.
  13. I know LL has been really good in Texas, and yes he would improve the Twins. But he doesn’t exactly strike fear in me, and the Twins are going to be our closest competition in this 5-7 season window. If they hurt their future by giving up Lewis or Kiriloff for 35 Lance Lynn starts, I think the Sox are better off long term. Both of these teams are making the playoffs this season and frankly there is really no difference in what seed you have other than bragging rights.
  14. We get it, dude. You want to win the World Series and don’t really care what it takes to make that happen. You’ve made it clear.
  15. Hopefully they ship off Lewis for 13 months of Lynn who was terrible in a Twins uni in 2018.
  16. Ohh yeah, I forgot the Dbacks gave Calhoun a 2 year deal. Blehhh...don’t really want him around next year, TBH. I agree on Ray. I like him a lot, said as much many times here. I think he’s a great target now, and this offseason as well. But Dbacks can’t expect to get much from him as he’s controlled for a month, he’s been walking the world and has an era approaching 8. Definitely aren’t getting a Stiever type prospect for him, IMO.
  17. I think Arizona would literally give us Robby Ray and Kole Calhoun. They’re both impending FA. Ray has been awful this year, and Calhoun is the meh player he’s always been. I think a Collins and Gonzalez type return would be more than enough for those two. And frankly - id prefer that to trading any of Vaughn/Kopech/Madrigal/Dunning unless we’re getting a long term asset like Woodruff.
  18. It’s the trade deadline, dude. What else are we supposed to talk about? It’ll be over in 8 hours.
  19. Not necessarily. A trade could be agreed to in principle but they’re still working out final details, going over medicals, getting league approval, etc. it’s not that far fetched. I don’t think NSC knows everything going on with the Sox, but it’s pretty obvious he knows someone who feeds him at least some info.
  20. Woah, no chance I am giving up Stiever for Ray and Calhoun. Seems like a super steep package for those two. I agree with the premise tho.
  21. Why do you feel Kopech is part of it? Even if he is, it’s going to be as PTBNL and that speculation and wait for confirmation will be brutal.
  22. Meh. Not really. Probably would really only know about him if you played a lot of fantasy baseball or were a Mariners fan.
  23. I would be very supportive of this, though selfishly would love to keep Adolfo.
  24. String together? Dude is more than likely going to be controlled through 2026.
