Getz' pets are like cockroaches. They always find their way back.

Fire Chris Getz
So we are back to the 'this only his 2nd full season' BS. He's had over 600 AB's in the bigs and LAD burned through his options giving him multiple opportunities. If you want to squint at a hot streak and see it as his norm, by all means, you do you. But looking at his whole body of work in the bigs, seeing a hot streak for what it is and remaining skeptical is a perfectly fair position.

Fire Chris Getz
You’re really in no position to dunk on people who think he’s a bust either. Those PCL numbers from years past still haven’t translated to sustained success in the Majors.

Predict the White Sox win total 2025
The 2027 world series of poker? These guys wouldn't even win the the college world series...

Fire Chris Getz
Vargas' history of being bad is still a much larger sample than him being good.

Colson Montgomery has arrived
Looking at his Baseball Reference page, he made 4 starts at 3B in 2025 before his stint in AZ and none previously, which is far fewer than I thought. Perhaps they aren't that dumb?
-
Colson Montgomery has arrived
Not suggesting it would be a good move, just wouldn't be surprised by it.

Colson Montgomery has arrived
I wouldn’t be shocked if they started him at 3B and benched or released Rojas.

Colson Montgomery has arrived
This is the White Sox, of course they will rush him up the moment he shows a pulse. I am in complete agreement with you though, I would have waited to see him sustain the recent success for a larger sample, even if it’s a few more weeks.

Trading Deadline
I know this is sarcastic, but thankfully the Mets, Phillies, and Dodgers still exist.

Trading Deadline
They have made more splashes in FA than big trades, but being able to acquire Betts and Glasnow without emptying out the farm sure doesn’t hurt.

By not being historically bad? Yeah I got nothing.

Marlins claim Nick Nastrini
I love that he’s no longer a White Sox!

7/1, 9:10 PM, @Dodgers
Have we ever seen a three game series with a position player pitching in all 3?
-
7/1, 9:10 PM, @Dodgers
Golden Sombrero tonight and spends the rest of the series looking shell shocked at the end of the bench.

Trading Deadline
Farmelo for Vargas feels like an overpay, but I wouldn't expect more than an A ball prospect in return if the Sox are hoping to cash in. At some point the Mariners are going to have to push a few chips in if they are serious about making a run, but Vargas just doesn't move the needle for a team in need of a legit bat.

Trading Deadline
Montes is the best hitter close to being ready, and he likely ends up at DH long term.

Trading Deadline
There is no way the M’s are seriously interested in Vargas. He’s hardly better than Solano at 1B and sure as hell is worse than Williamson at 3B, rookie or not. It would be colossally stupid to trade a legit prospect for Vargas.

I’m calling bullshit on this right now.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
And I have never once said that a build is impossible or that the pricetag wouldn't be steep. Talk to the dude grasping at straws as to why it's impossible, not the rest of us with a rational perspective.

Target and the shops at Roosevelt seem to have zero issues existing on the north side of the Roosevelt viaduct, along with everything else that has been build the past 20+ years south of Polk. Far greater marvels of engineering have been accomplished throughout human history than building a stadium or two on former rail yards built atop reclaimed riverbed. But alas, we must endure one troll's unceasing quest to convince every reader on this forum that the site in question is uninhabitable, and any attempt to build will be swallowed up by ground that hasn't been riverbed in 100+ years... 🤦♀️

I don’t have any evidence for this, but it feels like retractable roof stadiums require a larger footprint than open air parks. If they are already sharing the 78 with the new Fire stadium, space limitations might be an issue as well. April weather sucks for baseball, but I struggle to see how a few cold/wet series in April and maybe a few overly hot series in late June or July justify the cost of a roof. Same with the handful of games impacted by rain every season. Chicago has weather extremes, sure, but we aren’t Houston, Phoenix, or Seattle. Domed baseball in Chicago will never make sense to me.

Colson Montgomery to AZ Complex
It is basically TA, and then guys like Semien who were traded away and blossomed elsewhere.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
In all fairness, moving on from Ricky was probably the right move. They needed a better game manager and he proved to be lacking when it mattered. Too bad we ended up with the worst possible downgrade.
