If we are talking about a mere year into the future, I am pouring millions into turning White Sox operations into the developement envy of the league. Poach the best minds in scouting, developement, data, etc. Whatever it takes. I leave FA alone for the most part until there is a homegrown foundation in place.

So we are back to the 'this only his 2nd full season' BS. He's had over 600 AB's in the bigs and LAD burned through his options giving him multiple opportunities. If you want to squint at a hot streak and see it as his norm, by all means, you do you. But looking at his whole body of work in the bigs, seeing a hot streak for what it is and remaining skeptical is a perfectly fair position.

Vargas' history of being bad is still a much larger sample than him being good.

Looking at his Baseball Reference page, he made 4 starts at 3B in 2025 before his stint in AZ and none previously, which is far fewer than I thought. Perhaps they aren't that dumb?

This is the White Sox, of course they will rush him up the moment he shows a pulse. I am in complete agreement with you though, I would have waited to see him sustain the recent success for a larger sample, even if it’s a few more weeks.

They have made more splashes in FA than big trades, but being able to acquire Betts and Glasnow without emptying out the farm sure doesn’t hurt.
