  1. 1. pray for a quick return by Beckham. Tightens the infield defense considerably. Much better rapport with ARam. 2. Paste HIT THE CUTOFF MAN post-it notes on the forehead of every player. 3. get the Donkey off first base. 4. Have a heart to heart with DeAza about his Ks and lack of concentration in the outfield. 5. Reduce playing time for Flowers. 6. Wait 'til next year. Or 2016, actually.
  2. Tyler Flowers makes me yearn for Jorge Fabregas or Mark Johnson. But not Josh Paul. Yet.
  3. appears that Ventura called a team meeting before the game. Didn't scream, according to Tweets I have read, but also didn't do the rah-rah stuff. This team needs more than meetings.
  4. when I said it's not going to happen, I meant it's not going to happen that Flowers becomes a competent big-league catcher. But I'm not sure how you can keep trotting a guy out there who leads the league in passed balls and hits less than .180.
  5. He's not a major-league starter. deserves a few more weeks. But it's not going to happen.
  6. The game Sunday is on ESPN. Shulman and the boyz won't sugar-coast how bad Dunn is and has been. They won't talk about how he's in between. Or how he "just missed" it. They'll say what everybody knows but the White sox don't want to admit: He can't hit any more and he is a gigantic anvil tied around the Sox franchise.
  7. And when that ball comes down, this season will be ovah.
  8. the only thing that's going to save Dunn as the season proceeds will be empty seats.
  9. Dunn leads off in the ninth. This will be good.
  10. I have faith that Hahn will get some solid prospects and wait until the time is right to get value for some of our guys. It's imperative because that is how he will be judged. nobody can hold him responsible for this sewage. This is a Kenny Stanford production. As for Dunn, he'd better think long and hard about retiring because if this team keeps losing and he remains at sub .140 (currently .139), it's going to get real unpleasant for him.
  11. Make that four Ks for Thompson. but Castro good. Snodgrass decent. and Micah being Micah.
  12. He's probably checked flowers' numbers and figures out that opportunity will be knocking, sooner, not later.
  13. Micah Johnson === baller. Starting to get excited about this guy.
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 10, 2013 -> 03:55 PM) You are a beacon of sunshine in an otherwise melancholy world One day the White Sox will cut their losses with Dunn. Until then, the suffering goes on and he will continue to say blah, blah, blah ... I feel good, I just don't know why it's not happening. 122 plate appearances into the season, it ain't happening, just as it didn't happen for several months last year and all of 2011.
  15. Let's just hope that we produced one solid player from the group of Sanchez, Semien, DeMichelle and Johnson. That would signal the end of Beckham -- not entirely a bad thing now that he is one season into arbitration and making serious money. the farm system is going to have to start delivering position players for the Sox to pull out their current flight path.
  16. He's never misplaced his identity. Overpaid, out of shape and a jumbo drain on the payroll. Life won't get better on 35th and Dan Ryan until he gawn.
  17. Yes on a new stadium in Birmingham. Allegedly more hitter friendly. And Carlos Sanchez has raised his average 35-40 points over the last 10 days or so.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2013 -> 04:05 AM) "Sox legend"? AJ was very good with us, he was an integral part of helping us to win the World Series in 2005...but legend is really pushing it. That word is reserved for guys like Shoeless Joe Jackson, Nellie Fox, Aparicio, etc. But wasn't Sean Tracey the one who was ordered to hit someone with the Rangers by Ozzie? Or was that Garland, and he failed to do it...? Can't remember now. It was Tracey in 2006 -- not long before our second-half collapse. Gotta admit I am surprised they drilled AJ. Although he reportedly got prickly with Dallas media Tuesday for asking about White Sox.
  19. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 27, 2013 -> 03:04 AM) We have a couple interesting middle infield prospects. We literally have nothing at 3B. At least Gillaspie is giving us some hope at position. we have morel!!!!
  20. 56 errors in 126 games by jeter when he was 19 in Sally League, first full season in pro ball.
  21. We're less than a week from May 1 -- and he's under .100. And featured in the Sox TV commercials. Bring back Carl Everett.
  22. hoping Ventura, Hahn, the chairman, Gene Honda, Stone Pony, somebody says enough and says the Dunn drama is over. Why compound an awful contract by driving more fans away? Take some of the buy-out money from Kenny Williams's salary. It's his folly.
  23. or he's been watching some Adam Dunn instructional videos.
  24. Bring 'em on. The big league group tough to watch.
