what's the scouting report on Sanchez as a fielder? Might be time to promote Veal. He has pitched well and we need a lefty who can get outs in the pen.

Morel should be going to Birmingham, not Chicago. johnson is the right call. He's had a solid year and he's capable of having a hot week.

Liriano free agent after this season, but that's OK. With Danks getting the word out that he might need to be cut on, this move was essential. Time to get him fixed for next season.

didn't he just skip a start during the all-star game break. missed that sunday game in chicago. Threw one inning in KC and then didn't pitch again until Saturday in KC.

Walker's season has been encouraging. Considering his lack of experience and athleticism, I have hope. Thompson will also require patience. Appears he has too many holes in this swing, but maybe somebody can help him make more efficient contact. Marin has given up 24 hits in his last 20-plus innings. He'll be 23 next month and still in High A ball. Not getting excited about a minor-league reliever with those numbers.

Baseball America picked Castro as its Prospect Pitcher of the Day for his performance Monday. it's the first time they said something nice about a Sox prospect since 2001 -- when they were in love with Matt Ginter and Jon Rauch.
