4/11 game thread vs Boston 6:40 first pitch

Glad to see Amaya still in the starting lineup. 🤮I think 90% of Sox viable hitting prospects play 2b. -

How is Sean Newcomb starting a game in the major leagues? Follow up: How is it not for the White Sox? Him going out and dominating the Sox would be just about right. -
Moore going for Kanny. Iriarte has looked so bad this year along with a terrible start for Zavala. Looks like all the Sox are gonna get out of trading Cease is money saved by not paying him. So, Jerry’s happy.

If Meidroth hits, Amaya is definitely cut bait, but Sosa might be standing on the plastic like Joe Pesci.
-
Beautiful moment. Sergio Santos is a true class act. Anderson was awful at Charlotte. So cutting him is a no-brained. However, I am in favor of never seeing Amaya play baseball ever again, but you can’t have everything. Yet.

Maybe don’t pick the day they score 10 runs to knock them. Mogollon first A ball homer tonight.
-
Outstanding start by McDougal tonight. If he ever starts throwing strikes, he’s got mlb stuff.

I think picking any pitcher set to face the Sox is a pretty solid strategy. Especially righties -

Who on this roster wouldn’t you DFA? I think you could make a case for every single position player and over half the pitchers. -

In a 15 game series, I bet Charlotte would go 10-5 against the Sox. And that’s with Colson striking out 3/4 of the time. -

He’d fire half the guys and compete with a 13 man roster. Everyone would have to pitch and hit while sleeping overnight in the dugout. -

Ump giving that ridiculous top of zone seems like kicking a toddler. Sox aren’t gonna score regardless, but at least give them an even shot. -

I guess, but is Chase Meidroth's seventh arb year really worth anything? I mean, I hope he's the second coming of Dustin Pedroia, but I bet that doesn't happen. When Chase signs his $500 million deal, I'll apologize, but my lord, this line up is painful to watch. -

How could Meidroth be worse than Amaya? Half the infielders in AAA are better than Amaya. Why is he on an mlb team?! -

I can actually watch this game, so they're doomed. My apologies in advance. -
Carlson being there for the Sox in the BA Staff Draft was a dream scenario. I doubt it happens, but there are a lot of HS ss in this class that I really like. Carlson could go top 3, but this year is so fluid, you can't rule him out at 1-10.

Omar Narváez getting promoted, Lee likely IL bound per Fegan
Timmy U replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Wow. This roster has gone from awful to indescribable. I sincerely don’t understand Palacios and Narvaez. I mean, Quero has to be added to the 40 man at the end of the year anyway, and so does Meidroth. I guess they are protecting themselves against Super 2, but if either of them perform to that level, the Sox should be happy. -
I wish I could have seen Oppor. Looks like my optimism in Zavala was misplaced. It was a bad sign when we saw he was hitting 8th in the game against Kanny. McLain also struggling way more than expected. But there are some guys who are really opening eyes, like Oppor.

I think you would have to do the full Halladay and send him back to Arizona to rebuild his swing.

Duran opened up about a suicide attempt during career struggles. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/44571881/jarren-duran-reveals-suicide-attempt-amid-struggles-depression Really powerful. He’s my new favorite player.

If the Sox are looking for bullpen guys, the cupboard is pretty bare in Charlotte. Altavilla is currently closing. Throws pretty hard, but is yet another journeyman, 32 years old, was last good 7 years ago. I like Adisyn Coffey, but they don't seem to. Adler was just moved up, but he has command/control issues that may be the lst thing the Sox need right now. Gilbert is probably the next guy up for Eisert. He did not look good today. I don't believe in McGough. In AA, Pallette is closing. Dalquist and Luna both have good stuff, both of them also have trouble throwing strikes. If they were contenders, they'd be tempted to make Taylor a reliever and fast-track him. Of course, in their current state, that would be insane. I actually don't think there is a lot of help down on the farm.

Mods, it is April 6th. Maybe lock this thread?

Knights, Dash and Ballers all win.

Montgomery K’s on a bad call. Totally checked, but he still seems to be cheating for the fastball.
