  1. Sure. You could also rotate through Antonacci out there, maybe Tanner Murray, Ramos if he somehow doesn't get taken in waivers. I mean, the biggest reason to sign like a Conforto or a Bader is to disincentivize the Sox from rushing Braden, but you could always just say, "Lock me in this room and no matter how much I scream, do not let me promote Braden Montgomery!"
  2. Interesting. I am usually one of those "bad teams shouldn't pay relievers" sort of guys, but there is an opportunity to build value here, so I am intrigued.
  3. Really good Elijah Evans interview with new W-S hitting coach Adam Sinkoe just dropped. Sinkoe is super impressed with Jaden Fauske. He's another guy who could be a Top 100 guy if he breaks out in Kanny. Sinkoe also has nice things to say about the work Wolkow has done in the offseason. Worth a listen.
  4. Holliday did not play well. He raised serious swing and miss concerns in his debut. That family has a history of being able to fix swings, so it may pass, but Holliday is less highly regarded now than he was on draft day.
  5. Wow. That is mad Bonemer respekt, which I endorse.
  6. MLB Trade Rumors says the current Sox payroll is down to $67 million, which is a pretty healthy number. For a minor league hockey team. For comparison, Kyle Tucker is making $57 million all by himself.
  7. They could get 6 2b into the line up: Antonacci, LF Acuna, CF, Baldwin, RF, Vargas, 3b, Meidroth, 2b, Sosa, 1b/dh.
  8. This trade has me bummed out. There is no way it makes them better in 2026, which means that they feel zero urgency to not lose 100 games for the fourth year in a row. The number of failed prospects they’re hoping to catch lightning with would be very appropriate on a AAA team. It seems like they are comfortable running out absolute crap teams for the foreseeable future as long as they can have one of the three lowest payrolls in the league.
  9. Robert was scheduled to be at Soxfest. So Jerry also saves two nights at a hotel and minibar charges. He’s gotta love this deal.
  10. Meh. It should be an open competition between a lot of post hype prospects. Frankly, Pereira has been a lot better in the minors than Acuna. We are returning to the Tilson, Ryan Cordell era of truly sucky Sox outfielders. Brooks Baldwin is now the trusted veteran of the bunch.
  11. Acuna had an OPS+ of 62 last year. In 2400 minor league at bats he has 41 HR and an OPS of .741. Guy’s a R/R tweener who is probably a utility player and a pinch runner. Mets got all the upside here. Frankly, I would rather have a couple of teenaged lottery tickets.
  12. Horrific trade. Acuna is not really a starting caliber player and the other guy is a 12th rounder from last year. WHO the hell is gonna play center. Pure. Salary. Dump.
  13. Stone turns 79 halfway through through the season. I’d imagine he’s not in the booth much longer regardless of the ownership situation.
  14. I assume they’ll be looking for a dart throw Ala Fajardo.
  15. That’s sad. He started like half the games one year in my childhood. An all-time Sox great. RIP
  16. It might if you get to 100% revenue sharing, which might lead to a 3 year lockout. Also, draft picks transform franchises much more quickly and completely than they do in baseball, so free agents in baseball are probably more valuable than they are in football.
  17. Super teams get built with Max contracts and salary caps too. Competitors want to play for winners. A salary floor probably fixes nothing.
  18. As a flyer 1b, not horrible. He’s not an outfielder. That puts a lot of pressure on the bat. Best case scenario he’s lotta power, lotta walks, lotta Ks. So, not that many pathways to success for him.
  19. Okay, death, but first Conforto!
  20. In a world where Tucker gets $57 mil per year and Bichette is getting $40 is Robert even overpaid? $20 mil for a good defensive cf who might hit 20 dongs in 100 games is not bad. I’d rather keep him than watch Ryan Clifford in the of. But that’s me. I am on a quest to not lose 100 games again.
  21. Griffin is a no doubt shortstop. Does anyone else in their Top 10 stay at the position? Maybe Miller, Bonemer, and Rainer. But doubtful. Otherwise, definitely not.
  22. I love a run this long about a potential trade exactly zero industry sources are speculating about. It’s not a rumor. It’s baseball fanfic. It tells how long the wait until pitchers and catchers report is going to be.
  23. $35 mil seems rich for Bregman, but the cubs can afford it.
  24. Wow. He was on PEDs? And that bad?
