Sleepy Harold

It makes sense that the Royals wouldn't want to give him away, but no team SHOULD part with anything of substantial value for an aging catcher that doesn't hit or catch particularly well at this point in time.

The games are listed here on the fall league site https://www.mlb.com/arizona-fall-league/scores/2023-10-03

101 off the bat per the broadcast

Tix are $12 outside of five events (Tripleheader, Derby, Fall Stars, & both playoffs). Gonna be checking out a game next month.

Feels like this thread deserves a bump with the Sox cracking the 100 loss mark tonight. What a long, wet fart this season was.

Bryan Ramos, Colson Montgomery, Jacob Burke, Adisyn Coffey, Josimar Cousin, Jake Eder, Fraser Ellard, and Jordan Leasure all represent the White Sox.

Not anymore but they used to play in Tucson before all the AZ teams moved in/around the Phoenix area.

One aging and declining vet C contract goes out, one aging and declining vet C contract must come in. What an idiotic decision this would be.

Jason Matthews promoted to AAA, was hoping Ramos would get a cup of coffee there to end the season.

Oof, that did not work at all.

That tracks, I remember speaking with someone that cracked AAA with the Sox (in the 80s I believe), and their coaching for him on his changeup was to "throw it slower".

Some highlights from last night

Last year he played 14 games against dudes (on average) 4+ years older than him in his first full season and admittedthat he was just gassed by then end. He's nearly doubled the games played there this season (31), still 2.5 years younger and coming off an injury. We'll see how he handles the AFL, but way to premature to start panicking.

They should try to salvage what they can and just make him a reliever at this point, he can't seem to hold up as a starter.

They've had a long partnership and their three NC facilities are considered to be some of the best, so while Charlotte obviously isn't ideal for pitchers, I don't know that they'd look to leave because of that.

It's a fantastic facility and they signed an affiliate agreement which runs until 2030.
