  1. Checked baseball reference 4.1 OWAR -0.9 DWAR. Total WAR 4.2. Where did he pick up the extra 1.0WAR? Maybe his baserunning? In what universe is Jose a plus baserunner? If Jose is a 4.1 offensive 1B. Maybe all the other 1B are worse. Is it a down period in the AL for 1st base in general?
  2. Just my opinion, Jose isn't a 4 war player. Don't know how they figure WAR. Putting up an .825 OPS and being a mediocre defensive 1B doesn't cut it. His 60+ walks a year do not make up for 15 homers as a 1B. He has been a helluva player for a long time. But it's time to cut bait.
  3. Wore my W/Sox winter hat to work this morning. First time in a while I've worn any Sox gear. Life after TLR will be fine. Every time I get on this site, I'm blown away by the negativity. I thought people would be happier. I know I am. As for blasting Hahn for every thing, he was overruled on TLR. Then TLR brought in Joe Kelly and Josh Harrison. I'll bet he wasn't the guy pushing for Leury either. Sure he's a hack, but not as much as every one thinks. I think we all know he wanted A.J. Hinch for manager too. Maybe he'll get a chance to get it right this time.
  4. Probably while drunk. My father told me to never trust a man with a tomato in the middle of his face. P.S. Bill Wirtz didn't do s%*#. P.P.S. Get Bent.
  5. We need an authoritarian. Bolsanaro?
  6. Considering who owns the team, I'd say AJ is as good as it gets. We should start a pool guessing which player he slugs first. With this roster, there are about a dozen good choices.
  7. John Allyn was pretty terrible.
  8. He might try taking a walk once in a while too.
  9. With out a doubt. Harrison too. About half the bullpen while we're at it. Seriously, Releasing these guys might be a wake up call to every one else.
  10. Who wants our "core" players? Sox would get zip for every one if they actually could find some one to take them. It does fit in with our front office strategy though. "Buy high and sell low"
  11. Sosa will be a fine hitter. TLR would only play him once every 3-4 days, and it's hard enough to adjust to the majors as it is. He hits the ball hard and he can play defense. Sosa 's also 22 years old and basically free. The Sox always trade guys who don't hit right away. Just ask Marcus Semien.
  12. Get rid of every one. If Jerry doesn't sell, he has to let his son take over. Let him pick a new exec. V.P. in charge of the whole damn thing. Then we'll know who to blame if we still suck in 2-3 years. I may be alone in thinking this, but we have enough talent to trade for what we don't have. We also have 2 position players in the minors who should be starting 2023 as regulars at 35th and shields(Sosa and Colas). The right manager and GM could fix this s%*# fast.
  13. Front office and TLR set the tone. Players responded with injuries and apathy. One of my favorite jokes: What's the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know and I don't care.
  14. Is that Bobby Jenks or Benny Hill?
  15. Yeah, but he's a better defender than Leury on the infield. I also said he's an insurance policy. He only plays 140 games if Sosa gets hurt and Rodriguez isn't ready. Leury is the guy who gets launched into the sun no matter what
  16. Bring Elvis back for insurance, but Sosa should really start at 2B. Give him 40-50 games to adjust, and he'll rake the rest of the year. Sosa is also a solid fielder. One guy who is being sold short is Burger. He really was our best hitter for quite a while even though he has less than 2 months in the majors. He did fine in the field as well, until that one horrendous game. He's a solid athlete with decent speed. I'd much rather see him play than Sheets or Pollock. It is also time for Andrew Vaughn at 1B. Jose has been great, but time catches up to every one.
  17. Romy has played almost 50 games this year. He must be exhausted. Most 26 year olds tire easily. Especially pro athletes.
  18. Disagree. Like most elderly people, Tony has become a caricature of his former self. Little quirks become huge obsessions to most people as they reach old age. Fella, TLR has reached old age. He is no longer a competent manager. Any one who has watched his performance and can't see it, is being willfully blind. If this comment hurts your fellings, TOUGH S#$%.
  19. glad to see AV hit a homer. looked at his stats today. he has 25 walks all year. was a walk machine in college. coaching staff has to go.
  20. I think so too. God I hope we're wrong.
  21. My bad side keeps thinking about the wasted 2 years we can't get back. My good side hopes TLR gets better, but not better enough to return.
