Abreu really let the team down last 2 games........Soria has been lighter fluid

Edited by Soxfest

Well the situation found him three times and he came up empty each time.

Fuck.   Should have pinch hit EE there

are you serious

Terrible AB by Jose. Chased a pitch that would have guaranteed him a hittable pitch on 3-1. Then he had to protect and ended up chasing a pitch into a DP.

I think Soria was pitching around Abreu, but Abreu swung at 3 balls

Gonna come down to Engel in the 9th. Book it.

Should be 5 to 6 with a runner on 3rd and two outs.

They we’re giving third base to Anderson and there’s NO REASON why they didn’t run those guys on the 1 - 1 count.

Fellas this may be it. We have no one to blame but ourselves. Had a ton of golden opportunities. A ton.

Guess its not for us this year

Jose does what he does best and swing at fucking balls!!!!

Oh my lord

HERO BALL

Yep that's about it I feel. Dangit.

Had our chances this game.

They deserve to lose. No way to sugar coat it

Uh...Jose...you can at least RUN that out with some effort.

Yeah he’s the MVP but that was pathetic.

He also didn't really hustle down the line. Looks like the air just went out of the balloon.

Too many wasted opportunities. Too many men left on base. Too many walks. At least the defense was good. They'll have one more chance in the 9th.

Fwiw, with Grandal and Abreu after him, I would have disliked any steals then.

Eh I think you come out aggressive but that's just me. There's a decent amount of team speed that's been underutilized . Maybe the other one was after Robert drove in McCann ?

Horrible AB by Abreu, trying to hard

Its over I think.

We have had so many RISP in this game and so many chances despite garbage pitching.

God fucking damnit.  Was Jose not running full speed there?  Probably out anyways but didn’t look like he was hustling at the end.

I saw that too. Sometimes he surprises me with his sprint speed. Other times he dogs it. Not a good look.

Yeah I think that does it...oh well take it as a learning experience and come back next year.

Jose Abreu has had a fantastic season. That was a terrible, terrible AB in the biggest moment of the season. He needed to come through, and failed

He’s failed in the 3 biggest ABs of this series.

Just now, RG23SoxFan said:

that's the point, everyone expected the pitching to be this way.  you need to be aggressive and score any way you can.

I really hope that's not your way of saying that the offense should be held more accountable.

If the Bears can't score any damn points while their defense is dealing, you don't get mad at the defense when they start to wear down.

And quite frankly, I know you can't actually speak for anybody but yourself but if the mentality is actually that "everybody" knows the pitching is bad, the no one should actually expect this team to advance in the playoffs.
