Sadly funny that some fans want them to lose so badly that they saw a tag

I love Tim Anderson,  but Jose is every bit the heatbeat of this team. He could still be not playing and no one would have blamed him. Instead he gets his clock cleaned and is back winning a game on h

  • Cease deserves a big piece of this win.  No earnies.  Keeps them in the game when they are not playing that well.  Reinforcements may be coming. Guys in Charlotte are hitting, so the Sox have options.

And Abreu really is a guy that is so much more than the stats on the page. I can’t imagine many would disagree with that, but there are simply too many things Abreu does on a daily basis that can’t be measured by WAR or anything else.

Hell if half of the recruiting stories are true, he's already earned his contract before he ever won his MVP.

8-2 home stand, fellas...that's how you win the division.

Minny lost and the Tribe are down 3-0 in the 6th...

Wasn’t it a 7 game homestand? The first three games of that stretch were in KC.

Looked at my phone while out for an “escape” walk...GameDay app says Mercedes, out/s.

Then trying to figure out what kind of play Merrifield made to gun down Moncada.

Oh no, we’re going to screw it up in extras, Hendriks doesn’t do well in tie games, etc.  Or we’ll send Ruiz or Marshall out there.

Remembers the best opportunity with Davis’ offspeed stuff is a Grandal is walk or WP.

At the same time, nearly, the A’s were scoring against the Twins in a similar wild pitch scenario to take the 7-6 lead in the top of ninth.  Positive, Minnesota fans spared another extra innings heartbreaker.

And thank God for TA.

That's the problem. You have to watch all of their games to get that clear of a picture.

I never said it was a clear picture.

I said I am not writing KC and Cleveland off in the middle of May.  I have seen a lot of baseball this season and in years past on which to base that opinion.

Cleve now with runners on 2nd/3rd, two outs in 6th, clinging to a 3-2 lead.  Defense letting down M’s.

Matheny is such a douche. Glad to see his salty tears.

Bieber out after 4.2.  Threw 100 pitches.  Somebody understands the key is laying off the 60% of pitches he throws out of the strike zone.  M’s with one hell of a game plan.

That game was damn fun....I loved Moncada's reaction on that RBI single to tie it up.

The angle from the vicinity of the visitor’s dug out looks like he clearly missed the tag. Other angles inconclusive

I looked as close as I could to see if any part of Abreu jersey moved and I saw nothing on the best replay angle that might show that.

It was definitely really close. But even if he got the jersey, I think the catcher would have felt it. But he reacted like he missed him.

To me on the angle from third base it looks like the catchers mitt bends back as Jose is sliding by and then moves forward. It is extremely close, not surprised it wasn't overturned, and of course really happy he was called safe.  Just saying if I was a Royals fan I would be mad about it

Given the resources the Sox have there is absolutely no reason to be focusing on KC or CLE. The Sox' fortunes will totally be a result of what they do or don't do with the tools they have. They only reason you cannot write off KC or CLE is because someone will be there to benefit should the Sox simply wet themselves this summer.

Must have had different camera angles than we saw.. because in none of them did it look like he actually tagged him.

The angle from behind home plate looked to me like it showed daylight between the glove and Abreu. That was the angle that convinced me that he was really safe. I think Matheny is wrong on this one.

Yep, you're totally correct, my bad, 5-2 home stand...I misheard Benetti, he mentioned the Sox with a series split of the Royals would be 8-2 the last divisional games, somehow I misconstrued it as a home stand ?

Bro, if the roles were reversed, he'd be saying that that was the correct call. I couldn't care less what he says.

Bummer is the truth
