So they traded away a club controlled guy and a likely 2.5 WAR 2B for some b**** ass overpaid guy that can't pitch non 9th scenarios  who they now are trading for .50 on the dollar  in order to spend

I guess you guys were right and you can just go out and sign a Madrigal like 2B for nothing.

Interesting.  Not really structured as a starter contract.

A very minor option salary increase for a guy who has been hurt several times and is likely part of a platoon? That seems unexpected to you?

Yes. With it starting as low as 400 ABs it doesn't look like they expect him to be a starter.

Let’s hope he doesn’t make it to July.

I'd be thrilled if he didn't make it to Detroit

Look at the link, "give role player 'certainty' "

That's by definition an oxymoron.

Especially for guys over age 32 these days.

He made $1 million last year, didn't have year of any sort of note, but Hahn gives him $5 mill.  That's just lazy.

1.5 fWAR=bargain

Just don't look at those ugly prior seasons.

Gotta pay for that energy, plus with inflation I'm sure the price of things like Red Bull have skyrocketed.  They should probably just exercise that option for next year now.

Will keep harping that everyone says fans are dumb but everyone knew this signing was not gonna workout. But one person put $6 million dollars down that it would.

Didn't we just fight for higher player salaries? Those assholes in ownership were making billions while underpaying players. The Sox will continue to make a lot of money.
