The way Rick wheels and steals it's almost like having an extra World Series squad at Charlotte.

It's funny.  People see the obvious loss of production and development when you put Crochet into a limited role and limit his innings and growth, but want to do the exact same thing to a guy with just

I made a post just yesterday that I thought 3 or 4 40 man roster changes could still be coming and Rutherford was among the 10 or so names I listed.

That might be our only WS at this rate, the AAA one.  But pitching is pretty much a wasteland, again.

SPeaking of Kimbrel, seems wasnt too long ago there was talk of how we robbed the cubs. May have spoken too soon

Who was doing that talking? That trade was fucking terrible the day it was consummated.

One org guy deserves another.  If the Sox gave anything more than an org guy or cash, they really should seek mental help

While we're always focused on the big league roster and immediate impact moves, the FO needs to be fielding teams at every level, and in doing so, trying to find players with potential MLB-value, e.g., a "change of scenery," or "lightning in a bottle" type player.  I think that's all this is.  They know it's more than likely we're going to have to call up some minor league OF help throughout the season, so why not get a guy who can actually field, bats LH, has been able to hit in the minors (and even in the majors for a short stint).

On a side note, I could see the Phillies signing a Brett Gardner or Brian Goodwin.  Or maybe swinging a trade for Meadows.  I guess I could see them signing Conforto but that's them paying for three of the top OF FAs.  A bit much, but not out of the question.

I'm just glad Madrigal isn't on the Sox anymore. He belongs in Cubbie Clown Pajamas.

Why would the Phillies deliberately keep trying to worsen their OF defense?

And nearly everyone says Gardner to NYY or retiring.

And yet he’s been involved with constructing how many WS teams now?  4-5?  Maybe 6…

Makes sense.  Other teams have some roster decisions to make the same as the WS.  Three or four guys changing uniforms on most teams is to be expected.  A change of scenery will do a few of them some good.

I think he is referring to the Q deal.

I guess Tony LaRussa was wrong. Or just a dick

we all had such high hopes for Rutherford, shame.

Both are simultaneously quite possible.

Nah, KLaw had spent that whole season saying how awful he looked

Well this is something I NEVER expected to read. Cool.

Kiermaier ouchy.  Meadows not in the lineup, for conspiracy theorists.

Two Lowe’s and Brett Phillips (DH).  Looks like Josh Lowe, a 20-20 guy, will be the final OF cut so he can play every day at Durham.

And shockingly Gary Sanchez bad/indifferent defense leads to a run.

Huh?  He literarily said "Speaking of Kimbrel...."

I really liked him around draft time. Haven't paid attention since then.

Same. Was always wishing to be in position for a guy with his description in the first round. Life in baseball happens though, wonder what happened to him.

Meadows is worth 11.1m in surplus value according to that mlbtrade site. It would be tough to get him looking at what we have in the minors if you assume guys like Colas, Vera, Montgomery and Kath are untouchable.

Kimbrel has -1 value so even if you added 6m, it's nowhere near enough and TB wants a low payroll.

Wow. What a call. Does someone have a cookie for this gentleman?
