They're in a rock and a hard place. If Kopech doesn't pitch starter's innings this year, he like Crochet, is stuck in the bullpen.

If Kopech is a reliever the rebuild is fuckt.

You just said like 3-4 games ago that the rebuild is fucked

Moncada and his .235 OBP is the perfect candidate for the lead off position today! I don't know why he hasn't been inserted there way before now.

  • Staring right at a 2-5 home stand against our own weak division.   But things are going to turn around any day now, am I right TLR?

  • Michael was hurt on 6-12 He's thrown 5 four seam fastballs 96 or higher since then. He had 64 before that.

Does anyone have faith that with an offseason and a full ST, that Gio, Kopech and Lynn can get their heaters back?

It's fucked anyway, but it's even more fucked if Kopech is a reliever.

Pathetic.  Leury playing in his place.  This is not the time for a Sunday lineup. TLR is so predictably bad that is risible.

He also said Anderson won't play both games on Wednesday either. All of a sudden he needs rest when the team blows and he's about to play 2 innings of exhibition baseball over a 4 day span next week

I bet Leury will be able to suit up both games however!

Good talk

It'd be nice if Luis stopped popping up hittable pitches to the right side.

Robert only hits pitchers mistakes.

If it comes down to winning the game do you think Tony will pinch hit TA for Leury.

Probably not.  TLR seldom pinch hits with players on “rest days”.

Lol fastball right down the middle and Abreu whiffs. This team ain't scoring today.

He's very Alfonso Soriano-y although at this stage if he has a career like Soriano I'd be thrilled

Fuck this team.

He is taking too many weak swings with a very open stance. No adjustment.

Nice job of hitting there by Sheets.

Sox offense can’t show up 2 games in a row

This game is pretty much over. The offense isn't doing shit today

Belt high fastball middle third....ground ball.....ugh

The over under has to be 1.5 for the Sox for games after they score 6 or more.

Not even competitive

Never thought I could dislike a Sox team more than 2015 but this one has arrived.

Abysmal game to watch so far.

Sheets might be the only positive.  Unless you call pitching in pain by Kopech somehow good.

Was that the first year of Cabrera/LaRoche and then the Shark as well?  Where the main consolation was not extending Samardzija?

2011 wasn’t much fun with Dunn’s collapse and Guillen/Buehrle departing, either.  All those odd numbered years, 2007, 2009…

What players have the 3 hardest hit balls by a Sox hitter today? Any guesses?

what a shitty start

Kopech did not get the memo of not letting Baez beat you.

I’m going to throw out a bit of a conspiracy theory, but I think we could see a change or two during the All Star break.  Tony isn’t going anywhere, but I could see Menechino get the boot then.  There is no doubt in my mind that a shakeup is needed on the offensive side of things and I could see them giving Frank until the break to right the ship.

I think you may be on to something there. While it is unlikely TLR would be fired during the break (though stranger things have happened) I do think there will be some major changes take place at that time. This miserable season may not be saved but at least we can hope that the powers to be will finally start to use some common sense. Of course, that's askinng a lot from this head scratching lot of upper management.
