Since I am 1-0 as the emergency thread starter and baseball people aren't superstitious, here we go!  Starter listed as TBD.

It's Civale vs Cease. Note that Cleveland has canceled this match-up twice this year already under very questionable circumstances each time. What will these liars come up with tonight?

Do they rip the bandaid off tonight, or keep stringing us along hopelessly for another game or two????

Last week Cleveland sent in a minor league pitcher because they apparently didn't think a game against the Sox was all that important. Always feel good when Cease is taking the mound. Hope he can go deep into the game and that Sox don't allow themselves to get shut out for some reason.

This series rides on the starting pitching. 7 innings, 2 or fewer runs from all three.

This is the season boyzz

This feels like a playoff series where you're down 3-0.

You are up against an opponent that is close to evenly matched, better coached. They have to win 1 game. You cannot lose any games or your season is over, and even if you win 3 straight you still have work to do.

This team has me feeling like a rung out dishrag sittin' on the side of the sink almost dried 'til there is barely a good wipe left in me.

???

Good luck to this team. I appreciate the effort from Cueto, Cease, Andrus and Romy.

I hope for Cueto, Cease, Abreu this team can make us a memory.

Also twins are absolute trash lmao 1-7 in your division showdown lmao

Can someone please light Lake Erie on fire on their way out of town?  Thank you.

Sox ready for playoff baseball!!

Kind of like when Houston took a 2-0 lead in the playoffs last year. You knew the Sox were cooked, but tried to make it somewhat feasible they could come back. One loss in this series, and they are done. If they sweep, they win the head to head, and the Guardians could be reeling. But that has as much chance as Eloy Jimenez becoming an iron man.

One at a time.  I will be watching til the bitter end.  Will take meaningful September baseball over the alternative every.single.time.

Yep. Season has been a comedy of injury errors and TLR buffoonery....but if they win 3 games here...just 3, they can do this.

Well as Elvis sang, "It's now or never..."

Thank you, thank you very much...

A sweep or bust.

easiest gutpunch would be to lose tonight. Biggest gut punch would be to go 2-1 where we win the first two. :)

A sweep would make this a favorite memory in a few years.  Those unforgettable Sox moments come from this type of situation.

For all the BS and all the struggles this season, the Sox have their entire destiny still in front of them with a series at home. Let's see what they are made of.

If Yaz gives us one legitimate bat drop this series, Sox go to the playoffs.

Almost went to this game. Should be a pretty good crowd.
