This is gutting.  I have no doubt he will survive but he's widely regarded as the best person in the game.  My friend works with Howard Brown, an LGBTQ health center in Chicago and the amount of work

  • Seems like you’re the one using it to push politics.  The post you’re quoting is merely “pushing” some of the great work Liam has done in the local community.

The country just formed a giant prayer circle for Damar Hamlin so maybe they can help with Liam. Not evaluated for efficacy.

Sure sounds like he will miss time

I was told he's going to miss the season.  That sucks.  This must also be why I was told the Crochet deal wasn't gonna happen.

WTF?

This is why you don't go to the doctor.

Prayers Liam, you got this man.

I’m sure you were told that.

I remember years ago Scott Radinsky with Sox was diagnosed and thankfully recovered, but was gone a season.

Yeah I don’t see how he wouldn’t miss anytime.

Get well soon Liam! Stay Positive!!!

Without knowing any of the details, I asked a doctor about this and he said it’s likely a full season also.  Treatment, including chemo, and then regaining strength if all goes well.

This is gutting.  I have no doubt he will survive but he's widely regarded as the best person in the game.  My friend works with Howard Brown, an LGBTQ health center in Chicago and the amount of work he has done for them is immense.  Also remembering how vocal he was after the Supreme Court ruling.  I'm so proud he's a White Sock.  Hope this is a blip and he's back either later this year or next.  Just hope he is ok.

Just get well, Liam. Everything else doesn't matter.

Not to be that guy as his health is obviously first and foremost, but will he miss time in the regular season because of this? Serious question, not trying to be insensitive.

Very unfortunate news for Liam, his family and the organization both on and off the field.

Scott Radinsky of the White Sox had this and missed the entire 1994 season. He eventually did return although I don't remember if he was as effective as before the illness.

I think Mario Lemieux of the Penguins also had this (don't remember for sure) and he returned.

Moving forward we'll see what if anything Rick does since now this has a major impact of course

f*** cancer.  Go win this Liam.

Mario Lemieux had Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Fake insider clout chasing should probably skip a cancer diagnosis announcement.

So many thoughts. It's obviously life changing to receive that diagnosis.

I hope they have a special night to benefit NHL patients sometime during the season. Really sucks.

This will not deter my plans for a Sox wild card contender in 2024.

Wow this absolutely sucks.

Terrible, but if there’s one person on the team I know who would yell “f*** you” straight to cancer’s face, it’s Liam.

Man this stuff is so terrible. You know the odds are he will fight this and live a long happy life, yet also know that’s no guarantee. I really hope there have been some advancements here. That 74% rate someone threw out is not the most reassuring thing to see.

So there were actual legs to crochet for Torres?

I’m assuming he’ll miss the year.  The chemo and everything really takes a toll.  If he can somehow get back before then that’s a huge win — in many ways.

And hopefully being an athlete in your 30s helps those recovery odds even more.
