You know things are going bad when cutting Leury looks like a mistake

Ricky Renteria was the lone manager to hold players accountable and produced the best winning percentage in the Hahn era. Players possibly grudgingly respected La Russa the first few weeks of 2021 (Ti

Just a friendly reminder, Leury was 5 for 47 with a .106/.149/.192 slash line in April last year.

TLR is somewhere with that smug look on his face saying I told you so... that seemed to start with the back and forth with Hahn through media channels over Kimbrel's acquisition/lack of fit on the team.

Sosa, Romy and Elvis in the 8th. Murders' Row.

It's not like they didn't have multiple opportunities to acquire him... just passed, or weren't willing to part with the right pieces.

Same with Adam Frazier.

Who are we kidding? They both would have come here and sucked.

We might have the worst pitching staff in MLB.

How about Benintendi has an average of .295 and none of the other starters have an average above .240

I'm no TLR fan, but its hard to argue that perhaps TLR was keeping the tent from blowing off this circus.

Also has lost 60-75% of his previously projected value, but they still have to fill out a rotation in 2024-25 somehow...

You could tell me the Sox are a power conference college team this season playing in the majors, and I would say I could see that.

The emptiest average since the Madrigal Years...

Benintendi is Juan Pierre without speed.

The hitters seem like they’re ready to board the plane to Chicago.

Take away their VISA's and tell them to walk to Chicago.

Haseley getting in on the fun with a horrendous strikeout.  These guys quit a few weeks ago.

Haha, they don’t understand the meaning of “walk”

I'm firmly in middle age now and I've been a big sports fan for over three decades now and I really cannot remember a team that expected to at least be decent that stumbled this bad out of the gate. They aren't just losing, they are not even competitive.

Yes, which was my point. I can no longer find words to describe what’s going on. It’s gone way past any way I can describe this.

So...I don't want to act like the manager really matters all that much, but when things are going *this* badly you've gotta wonder about the manager right?

I don’t get why Andrus has gone away from trying to pull everything in the air.  Instead we keep getting this bullshit inside-out groundball approach

27 ABs by sox hitters. 14 Ks. Why not just DFA the entire roster and call up the Barons roster. How much worse could it get? Maybe they lose 8-1 instead of 7-0. JR could save a lot of money.

Yep, also seems like a completely broken clubhouse.  The antics between Eloy and Robert yesterday was embarrassing, and many people have pointed out how Eloy doesn’t interact with anyone on the bench now.

I don't study the rankings but the Sox starting rotation has to be one of the worst in baseball, right? To go with a bullpen that arguably is the worst in baseball.

The offense also is miserable. Can you imagine paying face value for tix and parking and concessions for a Sox home game after this month of April?

Re the upcoming firesale: Will be interesting to see if our "prospects" truly are worth as much as we figured during the tank/rebuild. Sheets, Vaughn, Eloy, Moncada? My guess is only Robert and Timmy are worth much to MLB teams. Our pitching prospects? I dunno man.

So far today, 14Ks and 1BB.

Nick Madrigal currently has an ISO 40 points higher than our big corner OF signing.

But we have Kimbrel, no wait I mean Pollock, Benintendi?  and it will only get worse once Cody Heuer comes back.

I have tried to disengage a little bit but Eloy definitely looks completely joyless in my observations

If you have a roster you think is a contender, absolutely.

If the roster isn't a contender, and is as bad as teams you had when you were trying to lose, you need to fix the front office.
