May 31, 20232 yr They should DFA him post deadline when they decide to sell. It will send a message to the young players that this is what happens when you can’t do what is expected of you and when you constantly s%*# the bed.
May 31, 20232 yr We are talking about a 36 year pitcher that is starting to decline quickly. Some pitchers still can be effective at 36, but those are the ones that stay in great shape as they get older. Lynn's other problem is he never really developed other solid secondary pitches and relied too much on his fastball. Now as he got older and lost velocity, as well as the accuracy to locate his FB, you see why he is getting hit so hard. The last two years of Lynn being on the Sox, he had a WHIP of 1.07 in 2021 and 1.14 in 2022. This year after today his WHIP is 1.51. Of the 70 qualified starting pitchers in MLB with at least 10 starts, Lynn is 67th. The worst part is, Lynn is the highest paid player on the Sox at 18.5 million. The Sox have a club option on him for 2024, which is either exercise the 1 million dollar team buyout or pay the man 18 million at 37 years old. Then you have to hope by the trade deadline in 2024, you can move him before he becomes an UFA in 2025. Good luck on that!

I sincerely pray they can trade him at this deadline and dump his sorry BIG ass! If he keeps pitching like this though, the prospects will be in Low or High A. It would have to be a playoff team with some injuries with their starting rotation willing to take a shot...hoping for the proverbial "Let's Hope to Catch Lighting in a Bottle!"
May 31, 20232 yr I only caught a few innings today, but I would have loved to have seen clips of Yoan pounding Lance Lynn's face to the point he'd have to breathe through a tube into next year before the swelling got to the point where doctors could perform reconstructive face surgery. May 31, 20232 yr DFA Lynn and try ReyLo as the 5th starter while searching on the scrap heap for a replacement. Lynn is not going to work his way into playing condition this season and that should have been determined prior to or during Spring Training. Lynn lacks balance on the mound. He falls off the rubber after pitches and does not hit the spots where he is supposed to throw. He's toast. An almost guaranteed L every time his spot comes up in the rotation.

I'm also pretty sure Lynn's salary in 2024 will be 1 million, because he'll be shitcanned off of any MLB roster.
