If Tim Anderson can be asked to shift to 2B, there is no reason why Moncada (a better glove all around) cannot be asked to  do the same in order to keep Burger in the lineup permanently.

Moncada and Anderson are weak ass bats where they should accommodate if asked to.

If Moncada is out the year, and Burger is the regular 3B he will end up with a near zero or negative fWAR, and be among if not the worst defensive 3B in MLB. Will likely impact his bat as well, finish around .750 or below.

They protected him and batted him 7th/8th for a reason, he is being completely exposed once teams took notice that they actually had to pay attention to him.

Last 14 games .542 OPS, .180 OBP

Last 28 games .722 OPS, .247 OBP

They fundamentally believe that taking too many pitches is a mistake. This has been a consistent theme since Rick Hahn started hiring hitting coaches. You have to attach pitchers aggressively, that’s their goal.

OK but maybe that would work with better hitters than we have on a roster now.  We have too many hitters that can’t hit a slider/ breaking pitches. The aggressive attack is not working so we should adjust.

Pitcher is gassed but they left him in to face Grandal because they know he isn't a threat.

You say that, as if there IS a threat in this lineup...there is nothing here, other than the potential Eloy XBH or Beni single.

That's your speculation, which is likely the outcome.

But for a lost season, I'd like to see it play out to erase all the "what ifs".

Especially when the guy being asked to move is almost to the point of being a defensive replacement player .

Both starters pitched well, went 6 innings and gave up an earned run.

Unfortunately for Lucas, he has Hahn's defensive infield and RF behind him.

Lucas also hurt himself with the hanger to Denver’s for a 2 run homer. One pitch has been the difference so far.  The errors also hurt.

In real baseball, the Reds beat Atlanta 11-10.

Acuna Riley Olson homered to pull within one in the 8th... Braves fan caught last ball one handed reaching out over the bullpen railing.

Diaz 21/21 in saves.

Cycle for De la Cruz and now has 2/4 fastest times from home to third in last four seasons now (10.7 range, Sox typical time to second).
