Change his number to 0.

No need to sully Oscar Gamble or Billy Hamilton.

He should be assigned Eddie Gaedel's 1/8.

I'm not surprised considering Getz is the same scumbag who knew about what went down when Omar Vizquel sexually assaulted a disabled bat boy, and yet praised him on the way out before attempting to gaslight Sox fans a few weeks ago.

Omar Vizquel specifically targeted the bat boy because he was disabled, and another brilliant Chris Getz hire, Wes Helms, witnessed and laughed along while the bat boy was sexually assaulted.

I really don't want this, because then Jerry and Getz will say see it's getting better (78 win season) and then they will continue to suck ad infinitum with no changes in place to actually change things.

You're obsessed with this vizquel thing. Chris Getz was given a piece of paper and he read it. Vizquel was in the game for 30 years and plenty of people said nice things about him. He was a bad guy.

Chris Getz has a lot of question marks but reading a statement written by white sox council isn't one of them.

I guess speaking Spanish must be only reason Grifol keeps his job, it sure as hell is not baseball related!

Seeing the results, the team has obviously quit. He keeping his job may be harder to believe than how we had to spend 11 seasons with the Rick Hahn Experience.

The team has quit, starting with Anderson. Yes, it is hard to believe that Grifol is keeping his job. But, you have to remember, this is the White Sox we are talking about.

Red Sox have pushed out four GMs during the same time frame roughly…three with a WS title on their resume and then Bloom spent his entire tenure prior to Boston in Tampa.   And was forced by ownership to wear dumping uber popular Betts and Bogaerts and recently a #12 payroll similar to the White Sox for a franchise that has historically been Top 5…unfortunately for him Rays at #28 and Orioles at #29.

This is complete bullshit. Getz had no obligation to praise Vizquel when he knew the exact reasons they fired him.

Same with the Chicago Hockey Team which aided and abetted serial child rapist Brad Aldrich, not reporting the rape of their player to the CPD, recommending Aldrich for jobs working with children, and then conducting a sham internal investigation exonerating the owner. The same owner who served on the Board of Trustees at Northwestern while rampant sexual and racist abuse was taking place for decades.

Thankfully Jerry Reinsdorf’s BFF Rocky Wirtz is no longer in a position to enable the destruction of the lives of countless children and young adults across the Chicago area and beyond.

Sadly, Chris Getz remains in a position of authority to hire additional more people like Vizquel and Helms into positions of authority, and vile players like Clevinger into the organization. It’s the Reinsdorf way.

You know seeing how the Rick Haun replacement went, I see no reason the SOx could do any better if they ever fired Pedro. It may be worse that Pedro hard to imagine that

Past that please fire Pedro

Rockies are about to pass Sox in standings when Pedro is actively trying to play to win by using expiring veterans like Andrus Grandal Shaw.

It's like the old Russian proverb - "and then it got worse..."

I think main reason is that he is under contract for a couple more years and JR wants him to work for that money, and don’t have to pay two manager salaries.  IMO.

Costing a lot more money in season ticket holders lost if they bring back a 100 loss guy in a so called competitive window season.

  • 2 weeks later...

You have a team you expect to win the division,  and instead it loses 100 games. How does this dope not get fired? He is a huge part of clearing the stench.

I wonder how many managers returned after losing 100+ games.

Grifol truly thinks he did a good job this season, you lost 101 games must be F’N nice to keep your job!

After the game Grifol said of this season it was “Frustrating. Educational. Somewhat embarrassed,” Grifol said. “But hungry and committed to get it right.”

If losing 101 games with a team supposedly in its 'championship window' is only somewhat embarrassing, what on earth would it take for him to be embarrassed enough to resign.

He's clearly all talk. He will be fired in the next calendar year. If you really think your team could be interesting at all in 2024, for good reasons,  you better fire him before the season starts.

Keeping him is wrong. Sox gave him a whole season. The team was one of the worst in club history. Get rid of him. My gosh, Sox. You can afford to pay him exit money. This guy needs to go.

I keep hoping to hear - and Sox have now informed Grifol he is out. I guess the thing is - he isn't going to set franchise back another 5 years if you stick with him another year, but its pretty evident it will be just 1 year. Bright side is, a baseball manager really can't sent a franchise back 5 years, not like how a head football coach can ruin a QB and set the franchise back a ton.

This is correct. In September,  I didn't see him correct anything he was doing wrong in April. Picks on rookies. He's a fraud. It seems hard to believe they will get rid of most of the coaches he wanted, and keep him.

Listened to the podcast. He’ll be fired at the break next year.

While Oscar Colás was struggling, you routinely talked to us about what was bothering you about the way he was playing. Fans see, or have the perception of, similar mistakes being made by other players, specifically a lightning rod this year was Tim Anderson with the numbers that he put up. We didn’t hear the same kind of language from you in regards to him or some other players. Fans want to know: What is the difference?

“The difference is that Tim Anderson’s been in the league for a long time and he’s done it over and over and over again. And he got ample time in the minor leagues to develop. Oscar hasn’t.
