He is but he’s still not a good hitter.  Rojas is only good because of his glove.  His bat isnnit as awful as Lopez’s but it is still bad.  He mainly has more power, but compared to Lopez that doesn’t mean much.

Lopez:  .248 / .312 / .314 / .626

Rojas:  .247 / .323 / .362 / .685

I agree he's still not a great hitter.  My point was he's better than Nicky.  However, I will admit that the last few years of White Sox fandom has made me willing to accept less than I deserve.  White Sox are saying, "Here's a somewhat better version of Nicky Lopez for second base," and I'm saying, "Thanks."

I don’t think you’ve stopped caring, my dude.

  • Colson should play better then. He hasn't remotely earned a big league roster spot and putting him in the bigs out of ST would be organizational malpractice.

Zero reason to rush Pallette.  He’ll be up at some point this year, but might as well give him half a season in AA or AAA before doing so.

Has been McGough been optioned to minor league camp?  Who else hasn’t received a fair shot?

Garrett Schonele and Adisyn Coffey . .The pitching coach who left in AA spoke very highly of them and the Sox do promote pitching from AA  and they're both already 26. They should've at least got invited to camp . They had great seasons in 2024 along with Pallette and McGough.

Coffey actually pitched most of his innings in AAA .Schonele got 3 innings in AAA no earned runs.

2 weeks until opening day.

Meidroth remains the favorite to be our Opening Day SS.  I went to DraftKings earlier this week and he is not a betting option for AL ROY.  As soon as he is, make sure to place your bets because he’s going to run away with it.

I tossed money on Teel. Idk just feeling it.

It’s funny, I am very supportive of service time manipulation to get the extra year of control when possible, but if any prospect has a chance at getting us draft pick compensation from an Opening Day assignment I think it’s Teel.  I’d still start him in Charlotte because there is little harm in giving him a few more months of minor league seasoning, but I feel like he’d be a real threat in the AL for ROY if a mostly full season.

Just one year I'd like someone considered a borderline prospect to impress.

We lost Sheets and our bid for most losses ever.

So, someone like Shane Smith?

Would be nice if it was actually one of our own homegrown prospects.

Yeah the Sox even have a bad play by play guy. Sad but I can't listen to a guy who can't pronounce Veeck's name correctly. Inexcusable.

I'm not sure the strategy accomplishes much in the long run.  If a player performs at a high level after a few seasons, sign them to an extended contract at market value, or not. Why cheat a year out of their careers? It seems pimpy.

I don't understand people suggesting this or that lineup or infield and everyone seems to keep leaving Sosa out of the lineup. He's cooled off lately, but he was/ is one of the Sox's best bats in spring training, and that's coming off his great September where he seemed to really figure things out at the plate. I really think he's got to play and have his at bats.

Also, I don't start to understand this, "Play Amaya at short until Colson is ready" thing?  Amaya is terrible offensively; I'm angry he's still getting ST at bats. He's Maldonado 2.0: a complete dead bat in the lineup. Why would anyone want to play him?

Meidroth is not quite ready yet; I really think he needs to go to AAA for a while and to bond with the others.

So, this is the lineup, more or less, that I want to see; let's score some runs!

1st Vaugh

2nd Drury

SS Sosa

3rd Vargas

Rojas fills in five days a week where he can. At 3rd when Vargas is DH or at 1st, same with Sosa, Drury and so on.

That's 70 to 80 home runs next year from your infield. Again, let's score some runs. When whoever is ready to come up at the trade deadline, trade Drury, hopefully he'll have 12 or so home runs with less strikeouts and be this year's DeJong.

Outfield: Benintendi, Robert (let him prove he can stay healthy and get some real value at the trade deadline), and I have no idea in right. There's nothing in right as a option that I start to like, some lefty/ righty platoon. With Benintendi and Robert (full season, maybe traded), that's another 50 home runs.

Now, what I would like to see is all the youngsters stay down in AAA and have success and bond. Then I say bring them all up together in late July: Meidroth, Colson, the cacthers and the two lefty pitchers a little bit later in August. But basically bring them up as a group and work them in full time into September.

Well, I'm tired typing, but that is what I would like to see.

The only way to get a draft pick for someone winning ROY is if they’re in 2/3 top 100 lists like BA, pipeline and ESPN. Shane Smith and Meidroth wouldn’t qualify

It was negotiated in the Collective Bargaining process.  Pimpiness works both ways.

Because a lot players aren’t interested in signing pre free agency extensions and having a player for 6.9 years at a below market rate is substantially more valuable than just 6 years.  And that holds even more true when your owner refuses to pay free agents market rate.

Yep. Way easier said than done.

Most people have Sosa as the primary DH and then filling-in throughout the infield.  I seriously doubt they go with him as the everyday SS.

Also, bring the AAA guys up on a case by case basis when they are ready.  No need for them all to come up at once.

Sosa won't be at SS. And I think Rojas is primary (strong side platoon) at 2B.
