2025-26 NFL Season Thread

Recommended Posts

Caleb made around 5 elite throws today and was more or less mistake free. A few misses here or there, but that's normal for just about every QB in the NFL.

I would be feeling great about the game, then I saw just how bad Russ looked against a real defense on SNF and that guy put up 450 yards on Dallas last week. Alas, you play the team that's on your schedule and the Bears really needed a game like this to get right. I think today's game puts us out of the bad team category and at least confirms that we'll be mediocre this year. But I wouldn't go on thinking we can win more than 8-9 games until they can show us performances like this on a consistent basis against better competition.

Watching that game was a joy after watching years of guys picking apart the Bears zone defense.  The criticism of Williams is pure nonsense.  They need to run the ball as that defense needs to be off of the field as it is awful.

I loved Brady's analysis of Dak constantly checking down whenever Dennis Allen simply showed blitz.  He is an elite DC but the talent is pretty sketchy on that side of the ball.

The defense needs to rely on turnovers again and Dallas complied.  Not sure that's going to go well.  Drafting Loveland continues to be idiotic but I suppose they did not think they'd get Burden.

O line was great yesterday let's hope it continues to jell.

They still need an identity on offense. It's tough to get one when you can't consistently run the ball. Hopefully that 19 play TD drive is the start of them finding the run game a little bit.

Hopefully, but I’m not optimistic at all.

I really don’t get how they went into the season with this as their RB room.

Their main back would be a change of pace back on any other team.

Poles could have had Ollie Gordon in the 5th. Or maybe even Skattebo if he didn't trade out of the 3rd. But I guess Ruben Hyppolite and Zah Frazier were too good to pass up when you have one of the worst RB rooms in the league. Hell Javonte Williams could have been had for 3 million in free-agency and he ran his ass off yesterday.

I understand that the draft board didn't fall their way for running backs, but that doesn't mean you can't be more aggressive later in the draft to grab one. It's like they waited until the 7th to realize, "oh s%*# we need another RB" and grabbed Monongai.

I think a huge elephant in the Rb room is Roschon.  We are getting absolutely nothing from the guy who is supposed to be the change of pace back, the bruiser.  So Swift is overexposed and they clearly don’t trust Monangai yet.

it’s absolutely maddening how Poles has treated obvious needs going into every season

See what lower draft pick it would take to get Kaleb Johnson from Pitt

Crazy the swing to Skattebo and Hampton and away from Jeanty...ofc part of that is injury-related as it always is.

They also could have easily signed Chubb or Dobbins…was a total miss

Chubb still seems to be lacking that burst/explosiveness from before his injuries...or maybe the OL in Houston is that bad.  He did have one TD run when there was a wide open lane Week 2.

All the pressure now on Stroud and Nico.

Dobbins is always such a tease.

O.Hampton and Q.Judkins look like the two best bets so far.
