  • Honestly, rest of the playoffs are gravy. I will be disappointed when/if they lose, but they LOST 10 IN A ROW LAST SEASON. I'm all about making the most of your window, but they just won a playoff gam

  • Caleb sucks am I right?

  • Oh no. The football team I love might lose a playoff game gtfoh.

Will the OL allow for that?

Depends if the quarterback can execute or not. Rodgers played with some meh lines. So did Cutler.

Falcons way too conservative in the RZ.

Great article.  🤣  I especially loved this part…

“Are they really going to build a new stadium for these Bears?  A better idea would be to build an underground bunker and hide the Bears where we can’t find them.“

No mention of Poles contract status?

JK.

Btw what is Getz's GM deal supposedly? Through 2026 or 27?

WDYM?  He just signed an extension that matches Ben Johnson’s contract.  There is no status beyond “signed”

Amused that writers expect Caleb to become a top QB. He is worse than Justin Fields. His potential would be in the ball washer - practice squad skill set.

I actually thought Caleb has made some real steps - not where he needs to be but this loss was not on Caleb. Unless he was the reason for all the issues up front and the penalties. He still made his share of mistakes but not many QBs could overcome the amount of shooting of the feet that happened.

Still he has a lot more growth that needs to happen. I don’t have faith in Poles but I still think BJ will figure it out and I am confident he will figure it out with Caleb.

so Ben Johnsin gave up opportunities elsewhere to work with Poles.....bad decision but he can pocket the money and in 2028 become  a great OC some where

Caleb and Johnson are the least of their worries.  Poles is a fucking moron as Loveland was not drafted as a scheme decision and WTF was the Ozzie pick

Gap between GB/DET and the rest of the division is...considerable.

McCarthy is going to be facing the critics this week.  OL excuse doesn't explain it all away.

I am not sure how they Bears giving up 52 is on the QB, but sure

How do you draft Loveland and then not target him? Something is just off in that FO, there's no grand plan. Everybody is pulling in their own direction it seems. I'm not even convinced as a casual Lions fan that the Lions are that great, the Bears just let themselves get punked today.

I remember when my friends from Mizzou messaged me that the Bears took Luther and I was immediately confused before hyped. They were like "why are you confused? He's the best available!"

Cause Poles just...kept ignoring it. It's frightening because right now, to get anything out of Loveland-Luther-Trapilo-Turner, your best chance is to try and do everything to turn Luther into a poor man's Devin Hester.

For a cross-sports analogy: Poles would draft Tyrus Thomas over LaMarcus Aldridge 10/10 times based on physical traits. It's mind numbing.

It's become incredibly clear their scouting/drafting/development process is incredibly broken. (Where have we heard this before?)

You draft Amegadjie in the 3rd round last year, in one of the most arrogant drafts I can remember. Poles acted like they could get cute and add the finishing touches to an elite team. Dude can't play, was right in the bubble of being cut during training camp this year. You followed that up by taking a punter in the 4th round, who has been average at best in his short NFL career.

This year, all offseason, fans and media regurgitated the same talking points over and over again, because they were true. "Fix the trenches. That's where the focus needs to be. You win and lose in the trenches and the Bears need to get much better on both sides of the ball."

Knowing that, the Bears took and TE and WR with their first two selections, because why not? Ok, now with those out of the way, lets draft an OL and DE with our remaining 2nd round picks. Neither one has played a snap of NFL football in Week 2. As I posted yesterday, Potash had the tweet that 18 of the 19 OL drafted in the first two rounds in the 2025 draft have already made at least one start for the teams that drafted them. Of course the Bears are the one exception.

It's just rotten.

And it’s pretty great they extended him.  So, like I said before, buckle up.  (Sad lol)

Poles and Warren are the epitome of the systematic failing of that organization.  His massive draft failures now greatly outweigh the successes of the Carolina trade and we are seeing it weekly.

Seems more personal with people than results driven.

This is the 23rd time in franchise history the Bears have started 0-2. Never before have they turned an 0-2 start into a playoff season.

I'm a Bulls and Sox fan so obviously I know the pain of that Chicago ownership group. I'm just shocked I'm at a point in my now 41 year old life where the Lions ownership is clearly better than Chicago's. To be cursed with JR and the Mccaskies is something.

Jaylon Johnson could be facing surgery.

Somehow, someway...they may find a way to be worse than last year.

Stroud had that amazing rookie year then has been meh since. Guess that Ohio State curse with QBs might still be a thing.

Doesn't have any weapons on offense other than Collins...

I have nothing against the Bears' coach. He has a good resume. However ... the Bears have had so many head coaches and basically all fail. I guess the parade of coaches will continue. If this guy has a bad opening year and reluctantly gets a second year, if we stink next year, bye bye coach Ben Johnson.

Maybe.....it's not the coaches.
