WestEddy
Another name to watch on the Red Sox trade front… I’m told they’ve been in contact with the White Sox regarding IF Lenyn Sosa pic.twitter.com/P3YDItv6Us — Matt Couture (@MattCouture5) December 9, 2025

caulfield12
Rays to sign former Mets/Cards starter turned reliever S.Matz https://www.mlb.com/news/steven-matz-rays-contract Looks like they want him as insurance for starting rotation. "There’s a decent amount of uncertainty in the rotation behind Drew Rasmussen and Ryan Pepiot. The Rays have Shane McClanahan and Shane Baz lined up for spots. McClanahan will be on an innings limit after consecutive missed seasons. Baz was inconsistent and is at least a theoretical trade candidate. Ian Seymour is probably the in-house favorite to work as the fifth starter, but Tampa Bay is likely to add a veteran innings eater or two. It remains to be seen if the Rays will give Matz an opportunity to compete for a back-end rotation job." mlbtraderumors.com Edited December 9 by caulfield12

Historically, he hasn’t been able to hit much and he’s turning 30 next summer. Besides, don’t we have Getz’s CF prospect acquisition Samuel Zavala ready to take over CF soon? caulfield12
Like Meyers if it means no Hill getting significant playing time...but a relatively strong 2.3 fWAR means they will ask for Davis Martin in return as they need rotation help. Not sure how that helps the team long term as Meyers is already 29. Obviously Meyers would replace Robert in terms of the roster. Dustin May it's going to come down to price as well as basically a guaranteed rotation spot to rebuild his value. So basically a sign and flip guy if things go well in all likelihood. Looks like the DBacks are determined to trade Ketel Marte for young pitching help....Boston rumored to be one of the most interested teams... Schwarber F.Valdez E.Diaz and Skubal to the win offseason for the Mets again? Matz apparently signed a two year deal with TB. No $$$ announced yet. Jays pursuing Robert Suarez as closer.
