They wouldn't get the comp pick. You have to be on the same team in the majors for the full season prior to free agency.

Who the hell is Travis Hudson

I'm not trusting that property brother looking dude

f*** this Travis Hudson guy. He’s obviously got the wrong Chicago team.

Feinsand piece on Red Sox trade chips. Does not mention the White Sox with Gray as a potential suitor.

Also worth noting that Sonny has a full no trade clause. Wasn't aware of that wrinkle.

Any interest in a high-risk high-upside (but cheap, prospect capital-wise?) arm?

Mets Move Kodai Senga To Bullpen

Struggling starter Kodai Senga is dropping from the Mets' rotation to the bullpen. Get more details over at MLB Trade Rumors.

Only an option because we have such an abysmally low payroll

Fake account. I'd be really surprised by any trade activity prior to the draft.

Thought about him before too. If they thought they could fix him I’d be down

A cheap reclamation project? Why haven't our Sox ever thought of that before?

Well, I hate gossip but I've heard Sonny will not waive his no trade clause for the Cubs because he thinks PCA is too much of a prick.

SURPRISE! )

The Mets are really bad. I can't help but wonder if Juan Soto will want out of playing for the Mets. I don't know if he has a no trade clause in his contract but I would think he would waive it if he was traded to a contender.

Not a big name and he's a rookie, but how about Walbert Urena. Sox could do Jacob Gonzalez for Urena straight up. He's got a really pretty Savant page.

Senga is washed. I was pretty high on him coming into the year.

Walbert Urena would cost a lot more than Jacob Gonzalez.

Smart grab by the Cubs here. Peterson been pretty unlucky this year.

51% ground ball rate going to one of the best infield defenses from uh…the Mets.

Chat question on MLB trade rumors mentions Miami's Max Meyer (3.5 yrs control) for Bonemer, Gonzalez plus. They didn't think Miami is a seller. Thought it would take young MLB talent. Maybe more of offseason deal on Meyer.

I'd hate to trade Bonemer for Meyer. His advanced stats show quite a bit different player. And also... Been bad the years prior. I have no interest trading a high end prospect for that type of player (Meyer/Detmers)

Better to give up less talent and take on Alcantara salary or fix Eury Perez.

White Sox are simply not just one starting pitcher away from a WS team...especially if they are not going to end up keeping Murakami.

They might still need most of a bullpen, as well. And who knows what Tristan Peters will look like one year from now?

Feels like just another version of the Todd Ritchie trade, two decades later...and Marlins are right in the middle of the playoff mix.

How many retools/rebuild can they recycle?

They had to give up their 13th ranked prospect 1B Cole Mathis (2024 2nd round pick) for David Peterson. Mathis is tearing it up on the minors but he’s only in Single A and turns 23 next month. Probably worth it since the Cubs need just about any starter they get their filthy hands with all of their injuries.

Cubs are banking on Peterson being much better with their infield defense, as opposed to the Mets’…

Last time Painter was good was 4 years ago. Still hasnt come back from the injury. And for that reason, I'm out.

I'd consider this, but lean towards trading anyone but Bonemer.

Love Max Meyer though. Im a bit skeptical of the durability though and, for this year, those year end innings are going to be in very unfamiliar territory for him.

LaRRR still gets bonus points for the nickname “stinKay”.

From MLB.com this afternoon:

Q: Hey Mark, can you lie to me and tell me the White Sox are going to be big players at the deadline this year?

Feinsand: Why wouldn't the White Sox be a player? After the past few seasons they have endured, the Sox know how tough it is to contend. Assuming that Chicago continues to hang around the top of the AL Central and/or the AL Wild Card race, I think Chris Getz will add to the roster for the stretch run. Now, I'm not suggesting that the Sox will trade away their top prospects for a rental like Tarik Skubal, but if there's an opportunity to acquire players under control for another year or two, there's no reason for them not to do that. Adding a starter or two (think of guys like Seth Lugo, Michael Wacha, Reid Detmers, etc.) would not be a surprise at all.
