8/22 GT Sox/Mets, 6:10. Jump on the momentum

Featured Replies

A little bit of premature e-jump-ulation from Yan last night. Mr Rogers jumped all over an 0-1 fastball and sent us home happy. Spark we needed to jump start a hot streak.

Castillo vs. Scott

Wow. Haven't seen that reported anywhere reputable though.

And Stanton strained his other calf.

Yeah I read the tweet earlier and then had Judge in my head instead of Stanton. Getting those two lugheads confused.

The Sox need to get on a nice roll and put some serious distance between them and the 3 other contenders in the Division. Start by sweeping the Mets and Rangers.

Tonight's Wooden Domino Set night.

We need to go like 8-2 over a stretch and just put this thing to bed barring a massive collapse. That would put us 12 over .500 with like 25 to play. Just playing .500 would easily win the division from that point and probably 2-3 under would as well.

Start by winning today. Mets aren't a dangerous team, they are a little hot, but they don't really have a balanced lineup or much pitching. That Yan guy stinks and he's one of their highest leverage arms right now. Just get into the pen, tack a few more on, and win like 6-4 again.

Being a Yankees fan having to count on those guys health must be maddening, mostly because you know the world wreckers they are when they play

I mean at this point Stanton is like Robert + 6 years of age. He's never going to be healthy. Judge I think might sadly have some sort of chronic core issue. It sounds like it might be a cartilage issue, something you'd see like in a QB or something except in MLB you gotta play 6 times a week and can't just shoot up a shot on Sunday.

It all depends on the pitching and what they have left in the tank.

Agree, we really haven’t had a period of good consistent pitching all year which is why our longest winning streak has only been 5 games, since we are leading the league in runs scored and if we had more consistent pitching the Sox would probably be leading the division by 8 games.

Really hope we see Castillo come out of the gate sharpe and are able to get him to throw like an ace again. We really need some starters to step up and throw like reliable frontend guys.

Also, I don’t think anyone here ( including me ) has really properly appreciated Grich and what he’s meant for our team.

I was telling my wife yesterday he’s been quietly so solid for us this year. Then he hit that bomb. It was glorious.

I was nervous we wouldn’t be able to recreate what Tauchmann did last year, and Grichuk just fell into our laps. He’s been amazing.

Amazing how proper usage and asking guys to do what they can do as role players helps performance. That said, credit to both guys as individuals. Especially Beni, who could have just nailed it in these last two years. He stayed ready and it sure looks better for us fans (and I'm sure feels better for his body) with him as a platoon DH instead of an every day left fielder.

Buddy and I talk baseball a couple times a week on lunch break, without fail for the last two months when he asks me how the sox are doing I just go "win 2, lose 3, win 1" or some variation on that.

Hopefully.
