Yeah I have to say my list would probably be embarrassing. I'm not sure there is a movie I've seen 10+ times that I would say is a great movie.

This is probably the top of the top. I may have spent a full month of my life on:

Office Space

Swingers

Air Force One

Pitch Perfect

Lion King

Space Jam

Bio dome

I feel sick.

I think I have seen Toy Story 3 approximately 50 times

Sub-question:

What movies have you seen the most in your lifetime?

My wife asked me this and I think the answer is office space. I'm pretty sure when I was in high school I'd come home from school and it was on comedy central like every day...and I watched it.

Shawshank Redemption. I stop and watch it everytime it's on and it's on a lot.

Right, I've probably seen that in the top 20 abouts. I think there was a time period where I saw a crapton of Foreest Gump. That movie can really make you go insane.

Ive probably seen National Treasure more than any other movie and not even because its anywhere near my favorite movie, it is just on tv a lot and is an easy movie to jump into at any point. Ive also seen a ton of Independence Day and Goodfellas, but Id imagine at least Goodfellas has to be on a lot of peoples most watched list.

I didn't think about ones I had to sit through with the kids or ones that were "babysitting" the kids while I worked on my dissertation/homework.

I would need to include:

Cinderella

Veggie Tales

Aladdin

Toy Story

Independence Day

Scooby Doo

For my kids I got Aladdin, Toy Story 2, and the movie adaptation of Joseph and the amazing technicolored dream coat most of all as movies. A lot of Backyardigans and Wiggles Concert in the non-movie category.

I got 45 minutes into the Departed and honestly thought "This may be the best movie I have ever seen". Still really love it, just like Goodfellas better.

The Departed is just perfection in my book. It came out a week before I got married at age 23 and comes with some awesome memories.

It's also just awesome.

I'm almost positive we've had this discussion before but I've never gotten over the fact that they completely destroyed that story compared to the Stephen King short story. I guess if they would've named it something else, I wouldn't dislike it so much because it might be a decent movie on it's own. But it's just not even close. The only thing the two have in common is the name.

I don't recall discussing a book/short story with anyone, but now that I know it exists, I want to read it.

I'm sure I'll have to adjust this as time goes on, but here's my list in no particular order:

Shawshank Redemption

Edge of Tomorrow

Terminator 2

Airplane!

Pulp Fiction

The Wolf of Wall Street

Field of Dreams

Evil Dead Trilogy

Scream

Blazing Saddles

Saving Private Ryan

The Sandlot

Monty Python and The Holy Grail

Cabin In The Woods

Cloverfield

Planes Trains and Automobiles

I'm sure there are more...

I thought it was with you on the other board. Maybe not?

Anyway, read the book if you can. It is soo much better than the movie IMHO. It's by Stephen King but he originally wrote it under his pseudonym "Richard Bachman". You can either find it as a stand alone book or in the collection called The Bachman Books (which also has another one of my favorite stories, The Long Walk). I'm not entirely sure if the book is still in print anymore as the ending mirrors a pretty horrific tragedy in American history.

It gives a much better background on the main character and why hes forced to get involved in the games in the first place. The setup of the games is much better as well. The runners are basically free to go anywhere in the world instead of just being limited to a gameshow arena. There's also no sappy love story intertwined either. The ending is pretty dark but fits pretty well within the story.

IIRC, we had/have a book thread in here somewhere.
